Certainly nothing to get excited about. Choice of either Russian or French menus both fixed price and à la carte. Dishes were standard Russian fare. My oukha (fish soup) consisted of a watery broth with three pieces of salmon floating around and four mussels. The shashlik was acceptable but lacking in vegetables or imagination. Both dishes were rather cold and... More

Just a summary: when you order a "cafet gourmand" and what you're served is a coffee with three cookies from Auchan, this is a no-go. And basta.

It was somewhat better then we had expected but it was not really great. The russian part of the menu is a usual story - the starters are ok and the mains are much worse. Again for the russian food it is too expensive and not that real quality. But the service was good and friendly and we liked the... More

This is a French and Russian restaurant. I had the Russian menu and my friend had the French. The escargot and Russian soup were delicious. The Russian chicken had a strong flavor but was tasty. The lamb left a lot to be desired flavor wise. The ambience was great.

Our first night in Paris we stopped here for the reasonable prices, but they made it a special night for us. We sat in the courtyard and they sang for us and sent two violinists so we could dance in the rain. Priceless!

If you want to have a real Russian culinary experience, don't go to this place! I visited it last week: no Russian spoken by waitress (how's that possible??), no Russian beer, no Russian dessert (instead I got a Picard frozen cookie... not even good by the way)... so I'm still wondering where does the restaurant's name come from? Highlight: Live... More

While the outdoor courtyard was pleasant and inviting the whole experience was a major disappointment. We appreciate lunches which are relaxing and not rushed but over 3 hours for a 2-person lunch was ridiculously long. No apologies from staff either. I ordered mussels, as it was the special of the day. And my husband ordered one of the other specials.... More

I ordered salad chouba, borsht, pelmenis, herrings and 3 shot of vodka it cost me 115 euro. The food was mediocre but the waitress was very friendly. But in short if you expect something special don't go there. I've been living in Russia for 18 years so it was worse Russian food I ever had in restaurant.

Ok, so! If you want russian experience here it is!. Just like it would be in Russia. If you take the place out of context and treat it simply as a place to dine it probably wouldn't score all that well. However depending on your expectations you can have enjoy, just think Kitsch and Amusing fun. It was straight out... More

Terrible service, no customer value and clearly no knowledge of marketing and meeting the needs and expectations of consumer. Will never go there again and would strongly recommend people who are thinking of eating at La Cantine Russe to think twice before making their decision. Food was horrible and definitely not worth the money that you will have to pay.... More

Staying in Trocadero

Neighbourhood Profile
Trocadero
This is the neighbourhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendour, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
