Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good local restaurant with authentic French cuisine. I ordered scallops, and they were cooked to perfection. My husband had a steak, and although it was tasty, it had quite a bit of fat and sinew. Despite everything, it was a good experience.

We had a fantastic meal here in this cosy Restaurant which has just a few tables, where the service and the food match each other in both courtesy and excellence. We had the renowned Steak and Frites served with a shallot sauce and the Veal...in a creamy mushroom sauce - both were impeccable. Depending on where you sit you can see the chef prepare and create the meals and the chef came over to discuss the history of the restaurant and the meals - the veal meal followed a recipe going back sixty years when his father ran the restaurant. This was the best meal we had during our four day stay in Paris and we highly recommend La Cordonnerie. We will definitely return.More

We were in Paris for four nights and reserved two of our dinners well in advance at La Cordonnerie. La Cordonnerie has become our favorite restaurant in Paris and we were excited to return! The food was incredible each night, as it always is, with...a set menu and specials of the day. We enjoyed the ravioli appetizer both nights which went extremely well with the mushroom appetizer. My son doesn't like mushrooms anywhere else, but loves them at La Cordonnerie. The main courses were exceptional including chicken with foie gras, veal with mushroom, and grilled beef. The desserts topped it off -- with banana flambe with rum and a special of raspberries in a pastry with a special lemon creme. If you are fortunate enough to have a seat by the kitchen (there are only two booths), it is wonderful to watch the chef cook each plate in front of you. La Condonnerie is perfect and we will return to Paris again for the joy of eating there.More

Little cozy place. The food is so delicious, the service is warmly and very attentive. The menu is not large but enough and well selected, so the wine list. It’s located in a good area, between the Louvre and Place Vendome.

Best meal we had in Paris. Cosy inside with just a few tables. Went with foodie kids (13/11) and had refreshing cucumber salad, sausage slices and scallops to start all delicious, steak, lamb and oh the veal was lush! Great wine I just asked for...red and got two to try and picked one. Waitress was so helpful and spoke excellent English. Would definitely recommend.More

The focus is primarily on the flavour. Dishes are simply presented, without unnecessary distraction. Every meal we have had...here has been a culinary delight. It is an added pleasure to watch Hugo calmly and expertly cook in his small, open kitchen. His love of his craft is evident and he genuinely enjoys to share his Love of food. 5/5 from start to finish. How this restaurant does not have a Michelin star God only knows. Breath taking from throughout every course. After eating in many Michelin star restaurants this gem of Paris trumps them all.

The perfect Parisian Restaurant. We were so lucky to get a reservation for our last evening in Paris. It was quintessentially Parisian. The chef is a one man wonder. The food was absolutely perfect. Our server was so kind and funny. The space was small...and perfect. The chef clearly has passion for what he does. We felt incredibly welcomed, as though we were regulars. We will definitely be back. Thank you very much for a wonderful evening.More

Lovely chef and serving staff. Small intimate restaurant with great French cuisine and service. We had St Jacques scallops and then steak with a nice bold Gigondas. No rush for us to leave so we stayed on for brandy.

Very small and chief prepare each dish separately for you. Very...reasonable priced. Definitely need reservation. We made ours months in advance.More

What a treat to stumble upon this “charmant” eatery after visiting the Louvre. We got seated at a table alongside the 1-person kitchen, and got to watch the chef do his thing. He first helped us order by showing us the day’s specials. My husband...chose the “joues de cochon”, and I chose the fish of the day. It was mesmerizing to watch this master cook in the tiny kitchen, skillfully juggling pans, skillets, meats, sauces, etc., and cutting with the largest knife I’ve ever seen. The deliciousness of the smell was matched only by the taste - everything simply melted in our mouths. For dessert, chef helped us choose the special fig+quince tart. The figs came from his farm 1.5 hours outside Paris. Same, the taste, subtle; and the crust? Melted in our mouths! Our waiter was funny and unintrusive, rounding out a thoroughly wonderful dining experience. While there for lunch, another tourist came in & declared he last ate there 6 years ago; and, he came back. That’s what a superb meal does for travelers - it’s forever etched into memory, and you would want to relive it again when given the chance. We will be recommending this tiny, low fanfare, and very reasonably priced restaurant to all our friends!More

Simply fabulous place. Great food, brilliantly friendly service (Tony is multi-lingual with a great sense of humor). We are so glad we found this place and managed to go the night before they closed for summer holidays. We would have come back again if they...had been open. Next time we are in Paris we will certainly go again. Highly recommended if you want an authentic small Parisian restaurant.More

We randomly found this restaurant before our visit to the Louvre. We got so lucky! The customer service was on point. Our waiter was welcoming and the chef even came out to explain the menu to us. We ordered the ravioli, pressed pork, steak/frites, fish...and the pear mousse. All were incredibly delicious! Highly recommend this fantastic restaurant!More

Sorry, I can’t say. I have many food sensitivities, such as inability to eat goat cheese and rich sauces, and the menu had plenty of choices that were fine for me. I usually also avoid nuts, and nothing I ate included nuts.

My best suggestion to learn if/when the restaurant is closed would be to contact the conseirge at the hotel here you're staying and have them contact the restaurant.
