I grew up in a part of the USA where every neighborhood had its own bakery and everyone proudly argued how theirs was the best in the city. The bakeries were strongly German influenced and the pastries were sweet, rich, doughy and dense as much of a meal as they were a treat. As a result I have always used... More

Been here a few times, never disappointing. They do open on Sunday and Laurdee do not. It is always busy and their pastries and macaroons / chocolates are never disappointing. Products are very pricy but worth a treat! Definitely need to stop by!

This place is class all the way with the flavours to back it up. The shop is exquisite and and the macaroons are to die for the only shame is that you can't try everything!

The chocolates were pretty good, but nothing more. The macaroons were disappointing, some too soft, some overcooked. The caramel macaroon had a bitter, burned flavour. Very pricy, there are better places to go in paris.

People clearly love this place as it was packed when we stopped in. When I have heard people talk about PH, it has been regarding the macarons- which were great, but the real star for us was the chocolate! He apparently rotates his favorite theme or “obsession” flavor, which at the time we visited was lychee and raspberry. Each bite... More

after years of wanting to go there I finally got to try the Pierre Herme Pastries. I tried four of their pastries: the classic Ispahan, the cheesecake Ispahan, the chocolate cake, and the lemon pie. All of them were excellent. The classic Ispahan is Pierre Herme signature cake and probably my favorite pastry ever. Personnel and service were both ok.... More

His macaroons are good but they use to be great. So many layers before. Such complex tastes combinations before. Now, other chefs can replicate what his stores sell. However, 2000 remain just him. Only he can produce this. Just before boarding the Eurostar, stop by his store to purchase two 2000 pastry for the ride to London. Absolutely nothing and... More

This boutique has the best Macarons in very mystical flavors that you can't find anywhere else. If you are around pass by and you won't regret. Wifey always enjoys the savory Paris macaron.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
