We really enjoyed the friendly and warm welcome together with authentic meals comming from selected local producers. Selection of wines is wide enough and they even have bio white wines.

We were staying at a hotel around the corner and were looking for a simple dinner out. Tripadvisor gave it a decent rating and we were in no mood to go searching so we dropped in and luckily got the last table. We were delightfully surprised to find the food much better than expected. In addition we had some of... More

I visited this centrally located restaurant twice, and I was surprised to have had two completely different experiences. The first time we went, the service was extremely efficient, attentive. Our orders were taken very quickly and the time between each course was timed perfectly. The plates brought to us were made to taste ans look like perfection - and our... More

We happened upon Les Fous de L'ile after an afternoon exploring L'Ile St. Louis. It surprised us with its whimsical rooster motif and the menu promised an extraordinary meal. The restaurant did not disappoint at all. A reservation was wise as the place filled up quickly after 7:00. The staff friendly and while they spoke great English, they kindly spoke... More

Good food, welcoming atmosphere, local flavor. A small, quirky restaurant with food that does not intimidate, but pleases the palate. Wandered in and they squeezed us into a table for 2 - the restaurant was full. Warm and welcoming.

Not only a fun atmosphere, but really good food, and friendly, informal service. This was one of our neighborhood restaurants, as we stayed in a flat just down the block. We called it "the Crazy Chicken" because of all the chicken decorations all over the place.

Numerous meals here have proven that this neighborhood restaurant is the real deal: good, solid, non-fussy bistrot food and house wine at an affordable price, and usually, excellent service.

We found this place randomly when walking by Notre Dame, and we got a nice surprise when the dishes came over. Good variety in the menu and a formula that works. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for something not too pricey and good.

This is one of those places one keeps going back to and never gets bored of. Popped in for a late lunch and had a wonderful meal. French food, simple and classical (if that isn't a contradiction in terms). Good value and located in the best part of Paris. Service friendly and efficient. Good value for what you get and... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
