Really bad service. I was there today for the second time, hoping that this time i would have a difference experience. I arrived with a friend for dinner, the place was completely empty. The only one server standing there was reading newspaper, he looked at us and said we should go to the next door restaurant. At first didnt understand... More

Came in for a small lunch and had vegetable soup and terrine of duck to share with hot wine. Very tasty and great friendly atmosphere (also friendly English). Great place to take break in touring Paris.

Found this wine bar by chance and had one of the most memorable of lunches ever. Our visit must have been a year ago but the memory's fresh despite the time lapse.. Whoever selects the wine knows what he's doing.. and we enjoyed patés and rillettes with it. A classic.. the "real thing". It's on our "must return to" list..... More

The ownership has changed but this place maintains the high standards of the past. The wine selection is excellent and the lunch / dinner menu has lots to offer. The service is excellent.

We stumbled upon this little bar while out walking. Had wine and cheese and sat watching others come and go. Parents came in with kids and had a wine while the kids had hot chocolate. So relaxed and we sat for over an hour eating and drinking and laughing.

This place is an absolute gem! I cannot stop singing about it. Well situated, atmospheric, wonderfully French and the best tasting experience I have ever enjoyed in Paris. The best part was the ambience. Nevermind the four of us were the only people there (don't believe it's full if you can't book online - go anyway!). Our host Lionel was... More

We needed a spot for an early dinner as we were attending a concert at nearby Notre Dame. We found this on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try. Turns our that it just changed hands after many years under the previous ownership. The young man who took over seems to know his business and should do well.... More

With so many restaurants to choose from in paris it's difficult to decide where to go. Within walking distance of our hotel we set of on foot. Welcomed inside by the very friendly waiter who chose and recommended our meals for us. My daughter loved the quiche and partner chose the snails in garlic. I opted for a small mixed... More

Taverne Henri IV, Bar a vin, on the Pont Neuf will remind you of all the things you love about Paris. A traditional wine bar with extraordinary history, it offers excellent wines by the glass or bottle, well-prepared simple bar food such as quiche, terrine, or a delicious cheese plate; there's even ice cream for the kids. French enough that... More

Visited Taverne Henri IV for the second time, this time in May 2016, and enjoyed it again. My girlfriend had one of the Plat du Jour items, the Quiche Lorraine w/salad. It was a good size meal and she really enjoyed it as well as others that came in to eat on the rainy day. For myself I enjoyed the... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
