Service was good, waiter spoke English but steak was super tough. My jaw was sore from chewing but the cocktail I had (cosmopolitan) was nice.

The Confit Canard (homemade preserved duck with Sarlat-style potatoes) arrived first. It was a lovely dish where the Sarlat-style potatoes sat under the duck leg. I was actually incredibly impressed with the quality and tenderness of this duck meat! It was absolutely perfectly seasoned and cooked. The meat was so tender and I savoured every single bite of it! Lovely little cafe/brasserie situated on Place d'italie. Choice of 4 set breakfast options. Basic hot drink and croissant for about €4 or add bread/jam & freshly squeezed orange juice to this for another €3.50. One of my party opted for the french take on the English breakfast which included scrambled eggs and a couple of rashers of bacon accompanied by... More

What better way to get used to a new city then to endulge yourself in the pace of the local community. 'La place' offers this kind of acclimatization. Grab a coffee, grab a newspaper and sit outside on the streets. Smell the city. Try the charcuterie!

This was right by our nearby hotel (ibis Cambronne) and we came here multiple times. The dinner was delicious, and great value. We also came for breakfast and for €8 you could get orange juice, a hot drink and a croissant, which we thoroughly enjoyed! This place had a great atmosphere and you could spend hours watching people walk by!... More

breakfast for a few euros included jam, small slice of baguette, a buttery melt in your mouth croissant, and a drink (you must try straight espresso). The espressos are strong but you will become accustomed to them and miss them when you go back to a starbucks. you cannot get an espresso back home like you do in italy and... More

La Place is one of those brasseries that you wish to have down your place. Very fair prices, super friendly staff and great food quality. Apart from one incident with our order (the waiter was still new, let's give him a break), everything went really well. I have already been there twice in 2 days! Recommended!

We stopped in a nearby hotel for a weekend and ended up here at some stage of each night for cocktails. Reasonably priced and nice drinks. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, especially Danny. Also eat here once and the food was good and again good value. Would recommend to anyone staying in this area of Paris who is... More

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighbourhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
