We came here for a weekday breakfast and I just loved the traditional decor, music and the relaxed atmosphere. There were a real mix of locals there, some working on laptops whilst otheres had lively debates with the bar staff. So it was fun, and the coffee, juice and bread with jam we had was excellent

The place is between 2 streets but there isn't much traffic (between 3pm - 5pm). You have to try the club sandwich there, it's terrific! It's huge and the meat has a very crunchy marinade. You have to be hungry. And try the fries (they serve them in a "news paper"!) The prices are ok, it's really near sacre coeure.

We found this restaurant a short distance from the apartment we were renting. Sorry that we did not find it sooner. Four us had an excellent lunch (the daily special of main dish and a dessert) plus a glass of wine and some good coffee. The waiter was very friendly, funny and attentive without being obtrusive. As we left, the... More

Great location, tasty food, great outdoor seating. Lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful multilingual staff. Being within walking distance of the Sacre-coeur, a great bonus. Reasonable prices for a touristy area. Beware: the cappuccino is bigger than you think after a meal and wine!

We had our first dinner in Paris here and it was divine. I had the onion soup which was excellent, my husband had a chicken dish and he was impressed with it too. We dined here a few times while in Paris and the food and the service was first rate every time. We don't speak French but the staff... More

My wife and I love the 18th arrondissement in Paris. Lot's of cool places, good restaurants, cosy café's. This time, Paris was just a pitstop on our way the the south. But we got off the périphérique, and found our way to Café Francoeur for a 1st time visit. It was breakfast time and we had the baby girls with... More

We had a very enjoyable meal here. Great Parisian atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. Helpings were pretty big, the food delicious and they didn't mind us sharing a starter and a dessert, so we thought it was good value for money. At the time, the Euro exchange rate was exceptionally good, which made things even better. The... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
