We were expecting a great night but the service was all over the place. The Maitre d was sickeningly weak and didnt seem to know how to behave or carry himself with guests - he made us uncomfortable by his manner, he didnt seem to know how to charm without being sickly sweet yet uncomfortable himself - not suave at... On our 2nd day in town, we tried New York uberchef Jean-Georges Vongericten's first foray into the Paris market, with a "casual but trendy" spot in the fancy schmancy 8th Arr., called simply "Market." See http://www.jean-georges.com/ Mr. Vongerichten, who has 3 Michelin stars for his eponymous Manhattan flagship, Jean Georges, was the only one who disappointed us at all in... More

Has great food. Dressy, although not stuffy. Has great food, and especially for dinner. Try it out!

The food was okay on average--a couple of things were very good but I couldn't even cut the lamb chop after waiting 10 minutes for a sharp enough knife to try and cut it. they forgot one of our side orders and when we finally got... 4 of us visited Market on 19th June 2009, after seeing a review in a magazine in hotel lobby. We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere was chilled and the food was fantastic, 2 of us had the John Dory and pronounced it the best meal we'd ever had and we have eaten in some nice restaurants in our time! The waiting... This was our 4th visit to Market and we were not disappointed. Our waitress was delightful and looked after us so well without being intrusive, but then it is a very classy restaurant. Our aperitif was Kir, then we both had Tartine of small shrimp - excellent. I followed this with Baked Cod with fennel and my husband had the... More

Just had a dinner in this great restaurant in Paris. Everything from start to finish was great. The food is excellent and the service is top class. This restaurant deserves a much better rating. Please keep up the good cooking!! Will definetely go back next time we are in Paris.
