This has the triple winner - bad food, expensive price and average service ! We all know most of the time you should avoid eating in a touristy place. Well one more time you should. Food was bad. We had a tomato salad and the Italian croque-monsieur for starter. The croque was defrost in the microwave for sure. Bread was... More

My friend and I recently spent one of our days in Paris on a full-day tour of Versailles. The morning concentrated on the palace and gardens and the afternoon focused on the Trianons. Between the two was a simple lunch at La Petite Venise. The restaurant was in an old, re-purposed boat shed. I am never certain about an "included"... More

So there you are, Versailles, the gardens are lovely, but it rains. With elevated security arrangements these days you are not going to score very well with your pastrami sandwich at security checks. No worries, Versailles offers plenty of "buy your own pic-nic" options. This is however a bit more "flashy/formal"setting: the former stables. It allows for comfortable indoor (I... More

We went with three small children and the service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious and it was one of the cheapest meals we had while in France. We sat outside and it was so tranquil and when the kids got restless I was able to take them back out to the gardens through a gate for them... More

Sitting there for 30 minutes to wait for menu. Waitress keeps forgetting us. We ordered tea and she forgot to bring it up as well, but she did not forget to charge . LOL Never again

So my parents and I went to this place for lunch after we visited Chateau de Versailles and on our way to the jardins. We ordered a coffee, and a dish of fish with scallops on coucous. The food is bland, nothing stands out to me. The coffee is slightly better than cruiseship coffee (not saying much). And the bread... More

Versailles, with all the grandeur can be a daunting place to visit. All that gold and sparkling crystal can be overwhelming. A good place to refresh your senses and have a bit to eat is at La Petite Venise near the intersection of the of the grand canals in the park. About 30 minute walk from the Chateau, we chose... Very nice relaxing cozy restaurant in the gardens of Versailles. So nice to sit in an upscale place after walking for hours. Small place with beautiful sculpture at the end with what looked like horse troughs. I believe it use to be the stables. We had the spaghetti frais with scallops, squids, octopus, cuttlefish and tomato sauce. Really yummy! Also... More

It is nice to find this sit down, full service restaurant within the grounds of Versailles. Service is friendly, the food was good and the prices were rather reasonable given the location.
