This restaurant has no concept of customer service at all. It was dreadful. We like leisurely lunches but not lengthy waits for initial service. We were rudely allocated a table, we waited for 10 minutes to receive menus and then were ignored for another 15 minutes when clearly ready to order. The manager/owner/order taker(?) first leant on his doorway, then... More

First of 3 weeks in South West France, we seem to have been unable to avoid frites with most of the meals we've eaten so far . El Campanar's evening menu offered us noodles - delicious, fresh and tasty. Friendly waiters, appreciated my feeble attempts at French! Excellent service, beautiful location.

We ate here as they had Thai noodle dishes on the menu. Both our meals were good. The service was fast, however perhaps a bit too fast as they seemed eager to get rid of us. Our last plates were taken and with coffee denied, we were handed the bill which we paid, still having three quarters of a bottle... More

I think this spot is too touristy, they didn't even let us try the local wine but just dumped it on the table (after asking us who was the one to try the wine???) and walked away. Next is that they 'screwed' us by adding too many items on the bill and ignored our complaints and told us we ordered... More

We have visited El Campenar with our family incl 2 children. The owner made us quite clear that they did not serve a kids menu. However we decided to stay anyway. We ordered Serrano ham as a starter and 2 main courses. For our kids we ordered one dish to share (sausage with fries). Food was ok and our kids... More

We have been coming to this restaurant for 4 years, it's always produced excellent food and friendly service. We had the €29 menu which had excellent choice, both of us choosing delicious goats cheese salad. I then had scallops, cooked perfectly and tender, my husband had Thai beef which was beautifully presented and melted in your mouth. Both of us... More

Quick and good service. Food is good. Loved the gambas. Collioure salad good, but you need to appreciate the ansjovis parts in it. Coeur de fondant as dessert - loved it!

I keep reading reviews saying that the owner is rude to customers. We have visited Collioure for the last 3 years and each time eat here and have never encountered him. Each time we experience friendly efficient staff with enough knowledge of English to be helpful. The menu is varied and reasonably priced and all dishes are imaginatively presented and... More

We ate here last week as we have in the past on our visits to Collioure. The food is good and value for money. But what struck us forcibly this time was Freddy the owner ' s attitude to non French customers. If you re local he s all over you , but otherwise you re second class . No... More
