Get there early or you have to queue !Lively bistro that is sadly dying out in France this is what French food was all about and Olivier is keeping the tradition alive.I have eaten there many times and have never been dissapointed !

Excellent food. Food produced from the market, Les Halles. Friendly service. Bench style seating which can feel too crammed in so get there early to choose an end seat or reserves one of two tables set for 2 people only! Have been going regularly for over a year now.

This was not my first visit to this restaurant but my first review. Situated on the corner of an indoor market this had to be one of the best restaurants in Limoges. And the set menu is excellent value for money- 35 euros for two. Get there early as it is popular with the locals. It is bench seating. A... More

Inside Les Halles (attractive covered food market), lunchtime only because market closes at 2pm (but food service goes on longer). Very interesting selection of traditional dishes marked daily on blackboard, can order by the dish or as 2, 3 or 4 course menu. Seating is largely communal (apart from a few separate tables which seem to get booked ahead) but... More

After reading the reviews we went out of our way to have a meal at this bistro. Unfortunately the difference between our meals and the locals, who were sitting at the same table as us, was amazing. It was the same order but we were served up the scraggy end of the meat with soggy chips slopped on to the... More

Want for lunch after visiting a marche. It places inside of marche and very lively. Might be better to have a reservation. Reasonable lunch menu with a good enough volume.

A little gem within the covered market walls! We didn't book a table and were lucky! We had a starter (escargots, salmon tartare etc.), main (cannette, steak tartare) and cheese (massive platter). This meal came up to 16.90 euros. The quality was fantastic! We got served in a good pace, the waitress was very friendly and smiley. Excellent value! If... More

We visited for lunch on a weekday and shared a table with local office workers - which made up most of the clientele - and they know a good thing when they taste it. Good food, very reasonably priced, buzzy atmosphere, and afterwards you can top up with cheese and salamis to take home from the market right outside.

First of all, we did not really enjoy Limoges. Perhaps the rain, and gray days we were there, but finding Le Bistrot d'Olivier was a definite pick me up. We always enjoy walking around Les Halles to see all the different merchants and the variety of foods they offer. What we did not expect was a great Bistrot for lunch.... More

This is what a French bistro should be. Terrific value. €16.50 for 3 courses. The portions were huge and the quality excellent. Lots of dishes rarely available in England: pigs trotters, veal, kidneys as well as local limousin beef and mussels. Pate simply delicious. Lively atmosphere at lunch and very friendly efficient waitress. We were reminded that good quality food... More
