This is my first review of l'Excelsior after probably 8 meals there: consistant quality, good service, good food. You will see on the picture the starter œuf mimosa avec chair de tourteau (fresh crab meat), and the desert crepe grand marnier. They also have beautiful seafood platters: highly recommended.

Brasserie Excelsior (now owned by Les Grandes Brasseries de l'Est) is one of the most beautiful brasseries we have ever seen. Upon arrival in Nancy we had a drink there - it’s almost opposite the railway station - and went back for breakfast another day. Each time we were overwhelmed and didn’t know where to look first. The facade (1911... More

Very good Brasserie. The staff is very nice and professional. You feel very welcome when you arrive at the restaurant. It is a real French Brasserie with good service, and very good quality. We had a menu from 49 euro starting with champaign. Starter trio of Foie Gras, Main choice af fish, or meat. The meat was tender and very... More

This restaurant looks amazing, you will feel like stepping into an impressionist painting. The food is good brasserie style, pricey but the location is worth it.

I visited Nancy with my partner to see the Art Nouveau heritage of the city, and so the opportunity of dinner in an Art Nouveau brasserie was one we didn't want to miss. I identified from the website that it was run by the Brasserie Flo group, who have a chain of beautiful and atmospheric venues (including one of my... More

The bistro is famous for it's Art Nouveau interior and it is worth going to see it. The food was good, but not worth what we paid and the service was very slow.

Art nouveau decor is the star at Nancy's iconic Excelsior restaurant. And while the cuisine is good, it comes second to the beautifully preserved interior. The experience of finding oneself in the 1900s is helped by friendly and speedy service. The menu features the French traditional brasserie and regional dishes you might expect, from a seafood bar to choucroute. Wines... More

Beautiful restaurant but service atrocious. Waiter came to take our order, left his pad on our table and then promptly went and cleared another table and made up their bill... he then sent someone else to take our order who didn't write it done so not surprised they got our order wrong. It took 20 minutes for our order to... More

If you travel to Nancy Fr, you have to eat at this place, we were served by Gerard Depardieu (real name) with grace and pleasure, the oysters are so good, and everything they serve is good. Of course the wine selection is great.

Had the set Breakfast Excelsior on a sunny Sunday morning when most other places were closed. As expected the room itself was beautiful in an understated Art Nouveau style. Service was excellent and the breakfast was exceptional value- 2 breads, a crisis ant, pain au chocolate, jam, butter, yoghurt, orange juice and coffee (with a free second cup). Too much to... More
