Managed to make fantastic food ; also the wine choice and price is excellent ; vive la france ! And why michelin... More

We arrived in Lille towards the end of lunchtime, our hotel was close to Rue Royale and after a walk up and down the street La Royale seemed the most welcoming. We were not disappointed, the manager and waitress were friendly, helping with interpretation of the menu and generally welcoming. There is a great fixed price menu but we chose... More

Despite charming interior and perfect first plate, rest was rediculous: they were out of stock of most plates although we arrived at 20 hrs. Dry rabbit, no vegetables and mediocre clumsy service. No coffee (machine was broken). Before writing this comment I called owner, who kept explaining his fresh food formula, that it's not his fault when he runs out... More

We came across this restaurant by accident having arrived in the city towards the end of lunchtime. The owner greeted us and helped us interpret the varied menu and choose a great wine. We decided on the lunchtime menu which was delicious and regional. The service could not have been better. Ironically we later went to another restaurant- Brasserie Comptoir... More

Short menu with about 6 choices per course. Well prepared and tasty seasonal food. I had white asparagus with 'pigs head' - much nicer than it sounds - type of fritter with the asparagus and a tasty cream sauce. Mains was slow cooked beef, again with asparagus and tiny crispy potatoes. Deserts looked great including home made rhum baba. Very... More

As a couple "Anglais" the owner was surprised as we order fois grass, duck hearts and beef cheeks of an eclectic bistro menu. The food was superbly cooked, well seasoned and a recommended wine was perfect with the food. Service was attentive - and once we expressed our delight at the food, the owner was very engaging and provided a... More

A really good restaurant offering imaginative food based on local cuisine and good quality ingredients, well cooked and well presented. Portions were generous and the service friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We had wines by the glass following recommendations by our waitress and they were very good. At the end, for someone used to British prices, the bill was... More

Went to this place with a couple of friends and my husband. Starters were really small and plates even smaller. Food wasn't well seasoned nor tasty. Around 80eur spend for a couple, was not worth the money.

Great place for a romantic dinner. The service and food where both great. Very friendly welcome by the hostess and we had a three course dinner with great wines.
