At the centre of Bayeux, enjoy regional and seasonal products at the Lion d'Or Restaurant. This restaurant, at the heart of the Normandy region, gives guests the opportunity to try some of the specialities of this rich gastronomic area. Chef Jérôme Alix has designed several set menus as well as a generous à la carte menu. In the restaurant itself or on its terrace, you can savour suckling veal bred in Normandy, for example, before delving into a selection of local cheese and finishing in style with an apple Saint-Honoré cake, accompanied by a light Calvados cream and cider caramel.

Our Tour stopped here for lunch on our way to the Juno beach. Certainly was surprised with the 3 course lunch: salad, chicken dish and dessert. The chicken was very good, tasty and juicy. I am certain their dinner would be fabulous.
We really enjoyed the duck breast and everything else about our dinner. Tasty food and excellent presentation; friendly and efficient service, including house specialty cocktails, and all made for a very enjoyable evening.
Our tour guide for the Normandy sites recommended we lunch there after our tour and not to miss the pictures in the bar. We found out he was right when we followed his advice.

We took the demi-pension for our two-night stay which included the "Inspiration du Moment." On the first night, we ordered the piece of pork which was less than inspiring and fish with cuttlefish black ink. The aperitifs and starters, however, were palate-pleasing. On the second...More
