We happened upon this restaurant by chance and it was fabulous. It was packed ( lunchtime) and during our meal, several parties were turned away. The food was imaginative, delicious and beautifully presented. The setting is another huge bonus.More

Dear Sir we understand your inconvenience. We proposed for this musical evening a less developed menu at 36,00€ttc, except drinks which included the musical performance. The last time when you had dinner in our restaurant, you had chosen a menu Pierre Bernard Mancel à la...More

We stopped in for a light lunch and ended up having two surprise platters of cheeses, light salad and bruschettas with cheese and ham. The service is spotty, but it is worth the wait. It was so good that we seriously considered returning for dinner!

We stumbled into this our first day in Caen, expecting at best a touristy-trap restaurant and finding instead a terrific dining experience--superb oyster stew with julienned fresh vegetables, savory sweetbreads in a lovely sauce, serene setting, acceptable service. The proprietor at the bed-and-breakfast later was...More

Cute and cosy place, very nice atmosphere, attentive staff, the food is delicious. The fish was awesome! And in the evening when you come out - it's a superb view from the castle!

SItuated in the castle grounds the restaurant looks the part but that is about all one can say about it. The waiting staff are clearly inexperienced and not too interested in their clients. The menu looks ok but the food is poor, served on cold...More

Very popular with visiting coach parties so booking or early arrival essential at lunch time. Reception and service were not very good but the cuisine is excellent and very good value. The best lunch we had in a week of touring Normandy

The Café Mancel is located Inside the Ducal Castle. It is in a quiet courtyard in front of a delightful garden. Its assets are: very peaceful surroundings, a place full of history, a dynamic cultural policy and above all a creative cookery that reinvents the Norman terroir .
