We stumbled across this place in the pouring rain in Rouen and although it does not look too obvious outside we decided to go in. The restaurant is beautiful inside - really cosy and welcoming and we were greeted quickly by both the owner and his wife who were extremely friendly. Although I speak a bit of French the owner... When we travel, we enjoy eating at local restaurants. While in Rouen for one night, we found this great place. We decided to go for dinner and we weren't disappointed. The place was what you would expect in the old town section of a city. The older gentleman who served us was very helpful and friendly. The food was very... More

I have been here a few times and like it a lot. The three course 19 euro menu is good value and the only thing I haven't liked so far is the bavette- think mine was still moving! The Welsh rarebit is very good but a bit cheese-tastic for some people. Wine for 13 euros a bottle is excellent. The... More

We enjoyed the EUR19 menu and a very good Burgundy Aligote, while eavesdropping on the Atelier d'Ecriture, which meets every Thursday eveing. The service was very friendly and good.

Excellent decision we had Fondue and Canard and it was excellent. This is a local watering hole, which makes it really fun.

We stopped in to Taverne Saint Amant while strolling around Rouen. We really just wanted a couple of drinks so we sat at the bar. This is a quaint, family tavern with some great architecture. Oddly (maybe only to us,) it is difficult to find vodka in France. I had champagne, which was very good. My hubby asked for Grey... More

We went there in a group and we spent a lovely evening. Most of us chose entire menus. I personally tried the saumon avocado as a starter which tasted good and had a very well chosen avocado. As a second, I chose magret de canard saignant. It was a bit cold but the french potatoes were melting in my mouth.... More
