My friends & I, had just returned from a very windy & rainy visit to Saintes Maries de la Mer, now in Arles and needed cover to eat . Looking around and the bright colour drew us here It seemed as though to replace the sun. It was lunch time and so very busy , there were 11 of us... More

Beyond sad... Everything about this place is sad... The service - an elderly gentleman hoppling along, trying to do his best to service all tables. The furniture - ripped, torn, rain worn. Perhaps still from Van Goghs time. The price - more expensive than anything else in Arles. I could go on... But I think you get the picture. They... More

Great location on the square. Several of the tables wobbly and lopsided. Restaurant wasn't crowded but seated at a long table with chairs crammed in tightly. We had steak pommes frites and pasta with salmon which were both good/average. The Paella looked impressive, will definitely try it next time, whether at this café or another in the square. Service was... More

Four of us had lunch at this establishment in late August 2016. It was over 30 degrees outside. The food was bad and expensive. But the worst part were the two bottles of Perrier we were served - warm- for a hefty 17.50 euros. When I remarked on the extortionist price for the water the waitress said she knew of... More

When we arrived nobody welcomed us to walk us to a table. I went to a waiter who was sitting at a desk. I asked her if those tables over there are free. She asked if we wanted to eat. After saying yes, she said we can sit anywhere and she kept on smoking... We should have left at this... More

The cafe has distasteful strong lighting at night which would leave Van Gogh in disgust if he were alive. Worst still is the service. When we went for a drink, they refused to give us the menu after we sat down, claiming people steal their menus. Before I sat down the sign on the road said draft beer 3.5 euros... More

This is one of several restaurants located around the Place de Forum in the old town. The establishment also advertises itself as the Cafe Van Gogh. A "front person" stands outside the restaurant inviting passersby to an available table. Once seated, service was inattentive and the food so-so. Our waiter seemed more interested in conversing with a couple of friends... More

I was dragged to the terrace by a nice enough waitress and as it was very hot Igave in and sat to an expensive plate of pasta and a glass of wine. On top of this the café wad watery. No tourist past 25 was having lunch there , just a few teenagers were having drinks. They pretend their visa... More

Avoid this place at all costs. We waited one and half hours for a frozen pizza. Service was terrible, food terrible, price and value terrible. Total tourist rip off. Dirty smelly toilets, no soap. Even salad didn't have dressing! Terrible terrible.

We spent 4 nights in Arles and went for a drink here once, which was a mistake. It''s over-priced and they tried to upsell us the expensive 'grand' beer by only offering that or 'moyen' (the moyen was basically a pint). So we would have been hit with a 20 euro bill for just a beer and half a shandy!... More
