Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a lovely cosy and welcoming bistrot in the very busy Cours Saleya. Excellent range and choice for all courses. Really lovely and welcoming staff and we were particularly well looked after by Lola. The baked St Marcellin starter was superb, followed by tender Lamb...for me and a baked Cod Nicois for my husband. I wished for cheese afterwards but not a full cheeseboard and Lola very kindly allowed me a small cheeseboard with the price signicantly reduced. Only sad that we found this restaurant on our last night in Nice. Highly recommend!More

Struggling to find non-pizza-pasta formule stuff in old town Nice we came across La Cambuse - a great find. It was very busy but service held up well. Local cooking of a high standard, good atmosphere on a busy Saturday.

Don't go! Rudest waitress we have ever come across. Young dark haired woman with a very bad attitude, totally in the wrong job. Brought us the wrong food and got very aggressive when we pointed it out. Four of us were not wrong, she was,...treated us like fools when our knowledge of French, particularly food menus is pretty good. Beignets brought instead of gambas... We also witnessed her arguing with another table. Ruined our evening. Take my advice, go elsewhere. The Café de Turin is excellent.More

We booked a table, but when we arrived 10 min earlier then booked, we have been asked to come back after 10 min. So we did, but when we returned, we still had to wait 15 min to be seated. The waiter arrived 10 min...later and took our order and then the order from another table near ours. When the couple at this other table got their first coarse, we still have not even gotten some water. This was another 15 min later. So, in total we have waisted about an hour there. We waited 5 more min or so, but at this point we realized that if we were going to get some dinner, we had to get it some other place. We didn’t see any other solution then leave, which we did.More

Very pleasant service from all staff and delicious food. My daughter booked this and we walked round to check that it looked ok. It did and we enjoyed a lovely evening. Great atmosphere sitting outside with very occasional street music. Service wasn’t very quick but...perfectly satisfactory for our group. I’m sure the staff would assist you if anything was needed. The food was tasty and prepared well. ThankyouMore

This was a terrible experience. My wife ordered the Cod fish and she discovered it was raw underneath. We complained to the waiter and he came and took the fish away, but offered no apology and he simply threw the dish away. The restaurant refused...to serve us with another dish and would not deduct anything from the bill. The chef came to our table extremely irate because we asked for a reduction. He was rude and threatening. We had to pay the full price as the scene was disturbing other diners. Altogether a terrible experience. Do not go to this restaurant.More

We were going to be in Nice on both Sunday and Monday nights, when many restaurants are closed. We turned to the bestofnice.com blog and found suggestions solving this exact problem. La Cambuse is a fun but upscale place among many restaurants lining the Cours...Selya, where the daily markets are held. A seat outside, somewhat protected (even had heat lamps), provided an entertaining view of the passing parade. The manager provided good guidance on the menu, and two of us shared a starter special, three big squash flowers in tempura that were exquisite — just the right amount of crunch. The standard menu was supplemented with a chalkboard listing 20 or so items of the day. We opted for the grilled lamb ribs, about three of which came atop a hill of brightly colored perfectly cooked vegetables — a real treat. We also selected the John Dory fish, which had a light, well-seasoned tomato sauce and cut up potatoes. We passed up dessert but had cappucino while chatting with the couple from Northern Ireland sitting at the two-top next to us, who struck up a conversations once we realized we all spoke English. A fun night!More

Really lovely dinner in a really busy buzzing area beside the market. Food was home cooked and service was lovely. We had the moules frites and the steak, followed by a delicious chocolate mousse. The waiting staff had to endure a particularly obnoxious english chap...who kicked off at them twice in the middle of service because he was not delivered his food instantaneously. They were super patient with him, despite him really making the atmosphere extremely awkward for everyone around him. As he ranted on I have to say I got huge enjoyment at their comment to him "everything here is cooked to order, this is not mcdonalds" 😁More

Decent restaurant but in a very crowded place, so if you want a quiet dinner you have to think again. The service was good, we had to wait for the check much more than we waited for the food (probably brcause we were early). They...have a nice collection of wines, but unfortunately they don't serve those wines. The pasta ia very good and they said is home made.More
