About
Voyageur Nissart has been a family-run restaurant since 1908, and frequently welcomes visiting tourists and locals. This small, charming restaurant is situated between the train station and Jean Medecin avenue. The restaurant seats 45 people inside and 25 outside, creating an intimate atmosphere. On a typical menu are Nicois dishes as ravioli nicois, daube nicoise and petits farcis. Traditional, simple and delicious, the recipes have been handed down from over one century, from generation to generation. The dishes are inspired by the region, the season and what is readily available to the chefs so our customers can enjoy a real nicois bistro experience. Browse through the menus and website to

Great evening reminding one of what you used to find all over France; good interesting local food, cooked well by a team who seem to actually enjoy the company of their customers. The menu wasn't perfect for one vegetarian daughter, and one who is a...bit picky (neither whined about this though), but for the remainder of the family party it was exactly what one required - Nicoise, French, tasty and lovingly cooked by the anglophile chef who came out and chatted with us after service. A memorable night and a restaurant we loved over the glitz of Cannes and the Vielle Port.More

I had a great experience at Voyageur Nissart! I got the ratatouille for my starter, which was incredible, I would definitely recommend it. Then, I got the ravioli stuffed with ricotta in a tomato sauce, and that was amazing as well. The service was fantastic...too. The server was very kind and he explained all of the dishes to me in English, which I greatly appreciated. Everything was very affordable too! Will definitely come back here the next time I am in Nice.More

Had a delicious meal which was outstanding value for money. It's small and could do with a wee bit background music but the food and service was superb. Would recommend.

Good, traditional bistro and French food. The place itself is fairly no frills, but that doesn’t take away from the food or overall experience. Limited menu on a chalkboard, but that’s our preference as we tend to find that results in better quality meals. Fairly...small portions but reflected in reasonable price for a set menu (or you can choice individual courses). Quality of food was good and food was well cooked. Would definitely return. Friendly and polite service. Mains a little slow, but not an issue.More

We were rather disappointed by our visit to le Voyageur Nissart, given some five star reviews on TripAdvisor. It specialises in local dishes and has a welcoming, family feel to it. Our starters were lovely - stuffed cabbage for my wife and pissaladiere for me....Our main courses, however, were not up to the same standard. My beef was a little tough. The ravioli with ricotta was OK but nothing special. Service was slow. Perhaps we were just unlucky on the occasion we went, but we have eaten out every day during our visit to Nice and this was the least pleasing meal we have had. The house red wine was fine.More

First visited here more than 25 years ago when the proprietor was an elderly lady, although she was probably younger than I am now. It has changed hands over the years but still true to its origins which is good local food cooked well. We...had the sea bass which was cooked perfectly along with a variety of vegetables and served to us by the chef himself. Desserts wonderful too. Nothing more to say. Hope to visit again when next in Nice.More

This little restaurant is not in the glitziest of areas (the street was dug up and there were cables everywhere) but the welcome was warm and the food was excellent. Three courses for about 27 euros was excellent value. The restaurant dates back to the...early 20th century and the menu serves traditional local fare. We enjoyed wonderful stuffed vegetables and ravioli but the star of the show was the beef dish beautifully presented and full of generosity. Desserts were equally delicious. There was a small but perfectly formed wine list. Service was friendly and fun. It's not everywhere the chef also serves up his plates of food. Don't be put off by the street. This is worth it!!More

Charming restaurant serving local speciality dishes which I was eager to try. Quality of food is matched only by the extremely reasonable prices. Friendly staff and thoroughly enjoyable ambiance. I will be returning.

We discovered this place thanks to Anthony Peregrine’s article in the Telegraph a couple of weeks before we travelled. It is so understated that we would have missed it otherwise- and to have missed it would not have been good! It is near the station...but away from the main restaurant areas which all serve the same fayre. This is a lovely small restaurant where the chef cooks the food and brings it to you himself. I suspect because he is proud of what he cooks - and rightly so. As Mr Peregrine said it is excellent value for wonderful local cuisine. I had the local delicacy Palasaldiere for my starter followed by a fish dish that we thought was hake (the sea bass had all gone). It was all excellent. Sadly no room for pudding!More

Booked dinner here ahead of time and I'm glad I did! Food was absolutely delectable! I opted for the Prix Fixe and told the waiter to give me all of his favorites. I was not disappointed! All the food was great, but the Petits Farcis...is an absolute must try. Thank me later. Ambience was cool as well. It is a small, local establishment specializing in Niçoise cuisine. It was nice out, so I sat outside on the other side of the sidewalk separating the restaurant from the outdoor dining area. It was right alongside the street as well, so you really got the feeling like you were truly a part of the city while dining. Highly recommend! Enthusiastically, Clayton CohnMore

We had a lovely lunch here from the set menu and were impressed by the quality of the food. The wine is also very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit for some traditional Nice cuisine.
