Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing place, authentic cuisine from Stephane. I always love the revisited Socca dishes (especially the calamary and pata negra one) although the other ones are also very good. Stephane as a chef is impressive!!! We chose to be at the counter to watch him at...work and it was truly amazingMore

No respect for people, no wonder why little man capacity in the kitchen. We were asked to order on whatsapp before coming. In a non fast-food restaurant normally you have the table reserved for 2 hours. It never happened before to be asked to leave...the table after 1h30 because others arrived. This is not a business is amatorism.More

Amazing little find in Nice. Great restaurant. Bib gourmand in Michelin guide. Stunning food. Exceptional wine choice. Would really recommend a visit for a traditionally French meal with a modern twist. We had rabbit and the veal. Both were brilliant and the sauces were to...die for. Liked the accompanying side. The gnocchi with the veal was incredible. I would have been happy to eat a bowl of that Desserts were good. The snickers special is decadent. Certainly bigger than expected and very rich. We’d say it was a sharing dessert. The pineapple was stunning. Roasted to perfection. Sweet and juicy!More

First impression was wierd. Just the chef in open kitchen and no waiter. The waiter showed up in a while. We were a bit sceptical: one cook and one waiter. But they somehow managed it and we had a wonderful time. Meals were great and...so was the wine list. Go for the 4 course menu, where chef selects a combination from alla carte meals according to your preferences/allergiesMore

Very tasteful, high elaborated cuisine, each time there I have discovered new menu, very difficult to choose because all sound and are really delicious, deserts included.

There is an ancient english trope which portrays a mediterranean restaurant as somewhere where you can expect: to not be told the complete truth about the wines on display, to be dismissed for believing what you read on the restaurant's website about the food and...wine on offer, and to be approached with a certain sense that you are privileged to be allowed to enter the rather cramped premises. I for one have never chosen to believe this trope but a recent trip to L'Atelier for some reason reminded me of it. Why three stars? Well from time to time I do have a disappointing meal in Nice and if the pricing were considerably lower then this one would have been ok. I guess that if beforehand I had spotted the Tripadvisor review that said this is not the place it used to be then I would have come better prepared. I appreciate that small restaurants here have to charge quite a lot to make a living, but the bonus of many of the small restaurants in Nice is when they can give a sense of honesty, friendliness and good intention.More

This is not the same place as it was in 2019.. this is a wine bar now, with completely different kitchen. This was completely not what we excepted - a lot of “tapas” instead of a real restaurant

We found this by chance near our rented apartment, and dined there last Saturday. And then we went back on Sunday. The food is excellent, imaginative, and way beyond anything we could do ourselves, or would find in the UK at anything other than an...expensive pretentious star-ridden establishment. The menu is short (4/5 starters and mains) but we were still spoiled for choice. There is an excellent, long and fairly priced wine list; the setting and the service are relaxed and unpretentious but just how a local bistro/restaurant should be. In short, a delight.More

I booked this restaurant before reading the reviews here and when I did I was somewhat taken aback by the negative comments about service and value for money. We found the service friendly and well paced, meals are not meant to be rushed in France....We thought the food excellent and fairly priced, the choice of wines was also good but perhaps a little expensive. That said, we had a super bottle of Gigondas which certainly didn't break the bank :-) We visit Nice quite regularly but this was out first time in L'Atelier, we will go back and we would happily recommend it to our friends.More

We had dinner in this restaurant. The main dishes that we took (gnocchis and shrimps) were tasty and well prepared. However at 26€ a dish, this is rather expensive. The glass of wine at 15€ is also very expensive. We had a bill of over...90€ for 2 main courses, 2 glasses of wine and 2 coffees...More

I forgot to make reservations for one of our dinners in Nice, so we decided to just walk around until we found some place with available places that looked acceptable. We ended up at L'Atelier. The atmosphere was inviting, with lots of people on the...terrace, drinking wine, talking and laughing. Service was very slow though: it took them 20-30 minutes to take our order and they were never around if you wanted to get another drink. When anyone was there, they were nice. They had an ok wine list and food menu, but the food quality was average, maybe even lower if I consider the rest of the meals we had in France. The flavours were nice and some items on the plate were cooked to perfection, but we also had elements overcooked or even burnt a bit (like the socca pancake). All in all, I wouldn't recommend the place, but I guess it's still better than starving yourself looking for an open place certain nights out.More
