A fabulous, friendly restaurant serving delicious food with a smile! Went here with a family group of 7 couples to celebrate two big birthdays. Audrey and her team excelled at the service and food they delivered. They did everything possible to ensure we had a...wonderful time including help with ordering two delicious birthday cakes. Would highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely go back for more when I’m back in Nice. Big thanks to all the energetic and skilled team at La Locanda.More

We visited this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation. The place itself is very nice and it has its own character. We took lunch on the terrace and went for the main course and the dessert. The staff kindly suggested a kid's main course since...our daughter wasn't finding something suitable for her on the menu. The menu itself is pretty straight, and pricing is easy to understand (main is at 20 EUR, starter at 9 EUR and desert at 10 EUR ; you can combine for discount). The food itself was very tasty and we really felt we were eating something special - the chef really deserves a good note. Still, we think it is not a restaurant for 'easy-Italian-food' (like pizzas) so go there to really taste something different ...More

Outside of Nice center in a residential area we found this lovely restaurant with garden, terrasse and inside seating. Nice starters and very good food for around 20€ per plate. Perfect tiramisu prepared on our table. Nice staff, sometimes stressed but quick.

This was not the first time I've had dinner at La Locanda. But it was the best. I saw that they had posted a picture on Facebook of homemade foie gras with black truffles mixed in. I had to try this. I got there early...and after about an hour the place was completely full. Packed. It was clear that others feel the same way about this restaurant as I do. I ordered the foie gras saison a la truffe, and what turned out to be a delicious pasta dish. The foie gras was out of this world! I have never tasted better. You can only imagine how good foie and truffles might taste, only to taste them together and find out you underestimated by far. Try to get there before they run out. The thick pasta dish with a red sauce including pork was also terrific. They had described it to me as having more "taste" than another dish I was considering, which they described as having more "heat." I went for the taste and it was great. As I mentioned, I've been to La Locanda more than once, maybe 3 times over 4 years, this time by myself and the other 2 times with my wife, who wasn't with me on this trip. Each time the restaurant's been great. The staff are friendly, efficient and will give you really good advice if you ask about something. They speak English well. They have an excellent wine list. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Even though it's not in La Vieille Ville of Nice it's not far. It's a great mix of Italian and French. The best in town.More

As part of a large party, the menu had been pre-ordered. The board of. meats and cheeses to share was lovely, the roasted red peppers with tuna also very tasty but the octopus (normally a favourite for me) was entirely tasteless. The mains consisted of...some small and dry lamb kebabs pare (oddly) with a risotto that was out of this world! A mixed bag but some real treats. The location does not look that promising but the restaurant itself is beautiful and tastefully lit at night.More

I wanted a non-tourist, local neighborhood restaurant with home style cooking for our first dinner in Nice. La Locanda was a perfect choice. Upon walking up to the restaurant, you notice the different outdoor seating areas. Each with it's own little cozy vignette, especially at...night when it's all lit up. Our server spoke English and graciously explained the menu. Appetizers Marinated tuna Warm cheese with honey and pignolli nuts Octopus salad Main course We all had the ravioli special stuffed with asparagus and cheese in a very light sage and butter sauce Desserts Profiteroles with fresh, hot chocolate sauce Panacotta Affogato The food was excellent along with the ambiance and slow pace of the evening. La Locanda is definitely worth the trip.More

DO NOT EAT HERE! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING FOOD! They charged us 109 euros for some stale bread, cold defrosted octopus that was not fresh, a piece of chewy beef on salad with stale cheese and a layer of fat in a glass which is aparently panna...cotta. Also, aparently the sorbet in France you can drink in a glass through a straw... Disgusting. When we said we will not pay for the 'dessert' that we didn't eat they refused and said we had to pay. The very rude waitress girl who was in her satin pj's said we had to pay and that it is our fault because we don't like the food (she even winked at me) she even tried the 'panna cotta' and tried not to grimace! She tried to say this is home made sorbet and panna cotta. It is just a disgrace. Don't touch this place with a barge pole. Disgusting food and disgusting attitude!More

We were recommended to come here by lotte et Gallow Immoblier which is near to our apartment in corniche Magnon. Well what a delightful surprise next to the law school/lycée tucked away behind the shrubbery we found la Locanda restaurant swarming with locals who know...how good this place is. You can park the car and sit in the garden with your apéritive waiting to be seated on the terrace at lunchtime. Or if you prefer have dinner. The plat du jour 3 plats is superb and very tasty and you can have a jug of rose wine or the local craft beer. Lovely couple run this restaurant Audrey from Normandy and Paolo from Italy. Their staff are also energetic and hard working. The swordfish is excellent and their fish and vegetables are all locally produced. The wine is from Italy. It was a real pleasure to eat in such delightful surroundings and not surrounded by the constant chaos of Nice. Intend to go tomorrow and the day after to indulge in Paulo’s culinary creations. Keep this secret from the niçois !!!More

Booked this restaurant in advance based on TripAdvisor reviews - stupidly turned up an evening early but they were very accommodating and squeezed us in. It was packed all evening with a great buzzing atmosphere. The fixed menu for €25 is great value for money,...and whilst not the hugest of menu choice, the pasta dish finished in the huge Parmesan wheel was a big hit (5 star carbonara!) and the tagliata de Boeuf was exceptional. Delicious local rose wine was a bargain too - our best meal in Nice by far for just over €100 for three. A little out of town but well worth the Uber or taxi ride. Highly recommended.More

I’m an English guy who worked for food and drink and Michelin guides in the uk for 4 years. I moved to Nice with work 3 months ago and basically eat out every night. This place is, in my opinion, the best.... and my favourite...restaurant in Nice and I find myself coming back usually once a month. That’s quite a claim but I say this for a number of reasons. The location, is in a really quiet neighbourhood and the interior of the restaurant is really quite an eclectic mix of trinkets and general bric a brac that gives the restaurant a really rustic homely feel like you walked into an old antiquities shop. It’s also loads of space and a beautiful outdoor area that makes it a great restaurant for a large group to eat at or a couple who will find privacy at a couple of tables on a romantic meal. Audrey in front of house is really friendly, as is Paolo her chef husband.....and he’s pretty talented and friendly also. The food has always been great, every time I’ve eaten here.....well sourced and very reasonably priced.....in fact it should be priced higher. It’s simple, rustic and delivers authentic Italian cooking as it should be.....using two or three ingredients at most but delivered in hearty sized portions and well presented. The menu changes weekly with a starter, main and desert starting at €30 Decent wine list of Italian sourced wines also reasonably priced. Best dishes I’ve had and they’ve all been good- the carbonara ravioli was absolutely incredible - all handmade, very clever. Truffle Burrata and fennel salad - amazing. I can not recommend this place enough people of trip advisor land - and I hope you don’t go there and be disappointed. Personally I never wasMore
