Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely loved the hospitality and the ambience of the restaurant. It was the best restaurant I visited while in Nice. Much better than the good restaurants I also visited. I ate for the first time frog legs and the snail. Absolutely fantastic. The tuna tartare...was absolutely divine. Absolutely highly recommend this restaurant.More

The magic of this restaurant lies in the owner - you can feel the passion and energy behind the business immediately. Dishes are a mix of french classics, updated and perfectly executed with very generous portion sizes. A far more authentic experience than anything else...on the beautiful Place Garibaldi. Outside seating is great for people watching and the new tram stop will be just meters away. Highly recommended!More

We stumbled across this restaurant and checked it on TA and it lived up to its reputation. Ambience is great as you sit outside looking on the square. Pleasant service and attentive waiters. Had a wonderful meal with the family. We ordered the gnocchi beef...stew that was rich and wholesome. The salmon tagliatelle was lovely. Linguini with clams was a nice tasty big portion. I ordered the grilled sea bass which was delicious.. at €30 a bit pricey but wholly enjoyed it. Would highly recommend if you were visiting Nice and were in the area.More

The Cafe Saint Paul came highly recommended by the hotel I was staying at (Campanile) and it was a most enjoyable dinning experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming and made me feel right at home. The location was located on a square and great...for people watching if you have an outside table. My server was very helpful in selecting a wine to go with dinner and always made sure to check in and see that I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I started with oysters on the half shell followed by Rigatoni with Truffle and it was oh so delicious. I topped it off with a wonderful dessert to complete a perfect dinning experience. If you happen to visit Nice you must make sure to visit Cafe Saint Paul you will not be disappointed!More

We were in this area and picked this cafe for lunch based on other reviews and the location looking across the square. The service was friendly and reasonably prompt without being intrusive. Our main plates were salmon tartare which my wife found ok, whilst I...had roasted duck breast, which I found to be tough and a bit tasteless. Overall, the experience and value for money was ok at best, without being outstanding. There are many restaurants in this area - we would try somewhere else next time.More

This is our second visit to this lovely restaurant. I reviewed it two years ago after a delightful lunch and we were surprised that the owner, Jeremy, remembered us. He has extended into the next door building and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. The melon...and ham starters and seabass and and salmon were delicious. Service was excellent. So pleased to see that it is continuing to be successful. We will return.More

We had lunch with our 3 kids here, for my son's birthday. My husband and I had dinner there the night before. Food was so authentic but sophisticated, many recipes were handed down through the family I believe. Great to see such good food and...wine at reasonable prices in a relatively touristy part of Nice. Service was impeccable, they couldn't do more, even though the two waiters were so busy. Highly recommended!More

Absolutely exquisite! Anniversary dinner last evening, and so good a family birthday lunch today. Amazing flavour, staff and everything. Our best meals in over one month in France.

Very good, french-style food on Place Garabaldi. Steak tartare and the snails are my favourites here!

Simple yet fresh and true French cuisine in the center of Nice. A warm welcome, detail oriented service and amazing food. Everything is not only coherent in terms of food, service and pricing but also in terms of trend. "The new place to be" whether...for a drink, a casual lunch or classy night out. Don't miss out, definitely worth a try !!More

I went there with my friends who often visit Nice and know the places in town. The food was very good and fresh. The portions were rather big. We drank beer, it was good. The service fast and friendly although there was no vacant tables....The overall impression was very good. Recommend.More

We were brought here by our driver who had heard good things about this restaurant. It is a lovely spot to sit and have lunch. Unfortunately, we had mussels and a special fish of the day. The mussels smelled terrible, so bad that my wife...sitting across from me had to cover them to avoid the smell. The fish was overcooked and very dry. Weeks later, we still talk about the horrible smelling mussels. I would not return here if in Nice again. We did have a nice bottle of Rose and the salad was decent.More

Looking for a place off the beaten path? Want to avoid a mediocre tourist trap restaurant? Saint Paul is the perfect place. We arrived for a late dinner after 10 pm and the owner made an exception to serve us. He recommended a great bottle...of wine. Explained each dish to us. My family and I couldn't have asked for better service and food. Our server even recommended a list of restaurants where we should go. You won't regret a meal here.More
