Lured into the restaurant by the wonderful decor, the menu seemed promising So we were sad to find the food odd and unappealing. Somehow everything seemed to be slightly peculiar. For example, the pumpkin risotto tasted of orange and was so full of brea as to be inedible after four mouthfuls. The fish soup was the worst we have had... More

We went here for St Sylvestre (New Year in France) knowing nothing about the place or the food. The whole evening was really delightful, wonderful high end food , and great not too hurried service. The menu at 85€ plus wine was good value for money. A repeat visit later in January was just as successful. Considerably less expensive but... More

Excellent, friendly, small restaurant. Fairly short menu & wine list which meant that the restaurant knew what it was doing & did it well. Very friendly, knowledgeable & helpful service. The "Gambas with Vegetables Exotique" was particularly good. Only criticism would be the laughably small & uncomfortable plastic red chairs-they may have appeared chic when chosen but in reality they... More

A small (32 covers in Winter) but cosy and atmospheric restaurant in Old Town which we will definitely visit again on another Nice visit. Delicious scallops in a mushroom sauce and excellent pork for Jan. Not a long menu as one would expect for a small restaurant but plenty of variety.

We stumbled upon this restaurant on a Saturday night and they were able to fit us in. I had king prawns that were sublime and my husband had steak. The décor and lighting was welcoming and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

It's always tempting to go where the big crowds are ......and in Nice they're all around the old town market but few get consistent reviews for food ......walk a couple of streets back and you'll find better value and much much better food as we found at The Tire Bouchon. Cute, and cosy setting, nice décor, and charming waitress made... More

We ate dinner here the Night of Candlelight (Dec 22, when only candles lit the room). We had the special night set menu for 40 euro, which included a glass of sparkling and a 3-course menu. I had the house terrine, and a prawn risotto that was amazing. The food and ambience were outstanding. Highly recommend if you are looking... More

We had got into the habit of going here every time we visit Nice recently and always sat in the small part at the front, which is candlelit, quite narrow but very romantic. This time we got put at the back of the restaurant in the less romantic larger part. Not a problem though, as we had not specified. The... More

The atmosphere in the restaurant is amazing, and the food is very good too. A memorable family meal. I would definitely recommend the lamb and polenta - yummy! Friendly service and some great choices on the menu. Thank you.

Recommended by our hotel maitre d' we chose to sit in the main area rather than the candle lit 'romantic room'. We just had a main and bottle of red wine. Fillet steak and grande gambas cooked to perfection, wine 27€ and reasonable value. Overall you could spend a lot in here but also easy to have a good value,... More
