Fantastic restaurant. The food is delicious, the service is great, cozy atmosphere. The price is very low for the high quality served, the plates are like pieces of art. The chef deserves a star! Despite the gastronomic character, they also think about children and have a special menu for kids.

We had a lovely lunch outside on a tiny street in the old section of Vence. The salads were simple yet elegant and delicious. I was so glad, for once, that my French wasn't good enough to exactly understand the description of the food. Had I known the chicken was fried, I probably wouldn't have ordered it. But it was... We enjoyed an excellent dinner from the 29 euro menu. I had a cross between ratatouille and gazpacho to start which was delicious followed by sea bream while my husband had an unusual take on a spring roll followed by guinea fowl. All the food both looked and tasted beautiful. We would certainly eat there again on another trip to... More

The food is fine and the staff are lovely. In many orher places it would not warrant a good review but I understand why my friends find it special in a p'ace like Vence, such a money trap. Well maybe it is worth four stars.

A small, lovely restaurant in the old town in Vence - a special treat! There's a set menu (€29 or €40) but we just had the main course - which was exquisite. The staff brought amuse bouche as well - an unexpected treat! Lovely tables outside and very friendly, attentive staff. Would recommend!

Had a really excellent meal here. My wife and I chose from the 29 euro menu which was great value. My cheese starter was fantastic and the pork rib was probably the best and most tender pork I have ever had. Really delicious. The staff are all very friendly. Give the 29 euro menu a try.

Description
« Agapes », feminine plural noun: "feast among friends"Les Agapes is first and for most a kid's dream, Jean-Philippe Douroux's dream. With a cooking and pastry training background, he makes his dream come true at 28 years old, becoming chef of his own restaurant. Located in Vence (France), in the heart of the historical city, is where this passionate about cooking has settled. In his plates, a subtle mix of tradition and innovation. From the appetizer to the dessert, here no dishes are served without quality products, fresh and seasonal. On the menu: two varied and inventive menus but the chef also offers a board with more choices, inspired by the daily market products.Good... and beautiful, Jean-Philippe's dishes present on a platter the pleasure of taste buds but also pleasure for the eyes. In the winter, it is a « cocooning » ambiance: meet up on the first floor in a cosy dining room for 30 guests. Intimate ambiance guaranteed, in a beautiful, chic, sober and inspired setting. In the summer? Gather on the sunny terrace filled with flowers for 40 guests. A relaxing break...inevitably gourmet, at the heart of a charming pedestrian area. Great outing idea: during the festival « Les nuits du Sud » (the southern nights), the chef offers a tasty stop with a special menu, preceding the concerts.Whether in the dining room or the kitchen, Les Agapes also means a dynamic and strong team, linked by work well done and a warm welcome. Welcome home!
