Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel is pleasant and modern. The location is good for access to the Aiguille du midi and is near to that end of town which gives easy access to all of the restaurants and shops. We had a junior suite with views of the...mountains. For 3 people it was lacking in space to put suitcases and ski wear. There were no hooks to hang up ski wear. One wardrobe which isn’t enough for 3 skiers. Rooms were cleaned daily and this was good but toiletries were too sparse and sometimes flannels and towels were removed and not replaced. Tea and coffee were provided but minimally and even though there were 3 people in our party we had to ask for 3 servings. The beds were comfortable but pillows awful. The pool was small but very relaxing. Limited space to sit. There was also a steam room and sauna and you could get treatments. There is a restaurant which we did not sample as it had a fairly limited menu. There are lots of good quality restaurants in chamonix. The express breakfast at 10€ was too much patisserie. There was an option for a fuller breakfast at 19€ with a cooked option. There are cafes nearby if you want to go out for breakfast. Lockers were provided for skis and boots which were good. Toboggans were available for guests to use. There was a good hotel ski bus and the driver was very pleasant and helpful. However in busier times two buses might be needed! The staff were very friendly and helpful and are an absolute asset to the hotel. There is a nice fire in the entrance/sitting area where you can have drinks or just sit and relax. Overall we enjoyed our stay but may be tempted to try elsewhere as quite pricey for what we got!More

This is nice option to enjoy Savoyard specialties and some other meals. They can get quite busy, but service is still excellent and quick. If you seat inside, you can also have a look at the people preparing your meal on the other side of...the counter. I would definitely recommend this one for the dinner in ChamonixMore

We stopped here for a snack at lunch time (fries, crepes etc). The food was quite nice but the waitress wasn’t overly friendly. The tables are close together and the waitress was struggling to get past them at times. There was nothing wrong with it,...but I’d probably try somewhere else next time. .More

The food was quite basic and very busy and quite cramped, i wouldn't go there again. I asked for ham and chips and they have me supermarket ham with some unseasoned chips. But the food tasted alright.

We enjoyed a delicious meal on a snowy evening. We arrived at about 7 15 and we were one of the first tables however it very quickly filled up! It was a bit of a squeeze around the table but the food was very tasty!...All the other diners were french which we always see as a good thing!More

Could not believe the welcome at this terrific little restaurant. We were in Chamonix as our son was running in the UTMB. We had just ordered our starter - a very robust salad - when we were told he was due to finish. We explained...the situation to our waiter who said: "Don't worry, just come back when you are ready!" We did - an hour later - and they served our main courses, delicious. It was now about midnight and the whole town was closing but this team stayed on for us. You would not get this kind of service in the UK. The food was excellent too.More

I had dinner there twice. I wanted to have a simple dinner, not for tourists. They have it. Simple steak, pasta with homemade mayonnaise, and fresh salad. Staff are all nice with smile. thank you.

The food was over priced and below average. The service was also, without a smile. The 'Greek souvlaki'was more of a chicken en croute (wrapped in pastry rather than the usual pitta type bread). The chicken spaghetti...was a fried chicken leg and a seperate pile...of plain pasta - no sauce or seasoning and a €16 price tag! We foolishly let our hunger overtake our better judgement on this one - there are a hundred better places to eat.More

Decent resraurant, unassuming and reasonably priced except for the wine. The cheapest decent bottle was €38 and that is a bit much for what is on offer. We had the Carafe instead, probably no worse taste but less than a third of the price of...a bottle. Steak good and have previously had athe tartifkette and big salads. Our only real moan about this place is that they assume you are English speaking when you speak French to them and give you a menu in English. We gave it back and asked for the French one. When we did this the friendliness of the waitress improved. Please stop assuming everyone is English and doesn’t speak French, it is just rude.More

The skiers would test the local variant of the Alpine tradition, Raclette. It was a really nice dinner with several varieties of cheeses, a variety of meats. Vegetables in different shapes and for this simple red and white wine. It tasted really good. We were...more than satisfied, perhaps because we emptied all the plates and bowls. The end with Génépi put a good nod on the whole event.More

Arriving in Cham after a tiring trip, my daughter and I were looking for an authentic local experience. Nothing fancy: comfort food was what we wanted, along with an ambience that did not scream “tourist”. We stumbled into Le Bivouac almost by accident. Think narrow...but not too long, with the kitchen on the left and a row of tables on the right, plus maybe a dozen seats in the back, down a few steps. Chris Miolane, the chef and owner (he took it over from his Dad) presides and greets you when you enter. His wife manages the front. If you are ski crazy like me, you will immediately recognize Chris as a local mountaineer and steeps skier who features in various YouTube videos! The night we were there, the buzz around the tables was all about the pow and the tree skiing and the couloirs. Serious skiers indeed, with nary a snow bunny to be seen. Of course, we went for comfort food, and Chris dishes it out in spades. All the Savoyard specialties, simply done, nothing too fancy in terms of plating: exactly what you need after a long day on the slopes. And at the end, do have a glass of his Génépi: homemade with love and way better than the commercial stuff. Conclusion: great value for money, home cooking, super ambience and a cast of characters that could keep you entertained all night, with not a Rolex to be seen, nor fur trimmed while ski bunny suit.More

Great little gem in the heart of chamonix. Highly recommend the tartaflette and tomato and feta cheese salad. Would totally eat there again if we came back on holiday.
