Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited the Tibetan Cafe on a sunny lunchtime to enjoy filet de perche. We had a seat on the outside terrace with fantastic views across to Lausanne. We took the Menu Perche, accompanied with white wine. All 3 servings were large and very tasty....We would definitely recommend to anyone in the locality.More

I am a regular visitor to Evian and no visit feels complete without at least one visit here. Whether you go for a relaxed lunch and a swim in the lake with the kids afterwards or a romantic evening meal the Tibetan ticks all the...boxes. Friendly staff and always full so worth booking. The food is great too and always beautifully presented. I have booked my Big Birthday here this year. That is how much I love it.More

It's quite a while since we visited the Tibetan and I doubt we will be back, we live in Evian and there are lots of other places to go I had Bonita Tempura, which was tasteless and it was difficult to to be sure if what...I was eating was fish or meat!! I just hope it was fish as I don't eat meat My main course was filet de Perche, and as Iive living locally I eat perche regularly!! Quite honestly it was the worst perche dish I have ever eaten ,it was swimming in brown grease The restaurant is in a beautiful location and was very busy for a Monday night. Perhaps it's for tourists now, I shan't be back.such a shameMore

For many many years we have driven past this restaurant thinking it was a place for Tibetan food - so did not stop. Thanks to other reviews here on TA we had lunch there today and will go back soon... Yes, it does have some...Tibetan "artifacts" as decorations. Maybe that's where the name comes from? Anyway the carte was very diverse, all very French and with local lake perche which we love (and honest enough to say that their normal serving is "EU perches" and IF ones from the Léman are available there is a supplement... Service was exemplary - we got there early before it was scheduled to open. We were seated immediately at a nice table near a window and within minutes our drinks order was taken. It was Sunday lunch and the restaurant was completely full but our courses were served promptly and we did not have to wait much between them. We opted for the €39 menu with a supplement for the local perches. It was very good value and the food was excellent - as were the choices on the menu. The foie gras starter was exceptional...as were the perches and there were almost more of those than we could eat! We will go back this winter and can't wait to eat on their terrace - right on the water - next summer.More

Whether you dine here a la carte or with the menu du jour the meals were all excellent. We ate here several times during our holiday in July and enjoyed every experience. The menu du jour was very good value and really tasty. As much...trouble was taken with presentation as the a la carte menu. The setting by the lake is beautiful and it was comfortable under the huge sunshades even on the hottest day.More

Not a cafe-it is better than that, and it is not Tibetan either, but it does have a great location on the lake front with a marquee for outside dining in Summer Lots of choice, lake perch, steaks, maigret, salads

The most memorable thing about our meal was the lovely lakeside location. We watched the sun go down while eating. The food was OK but not special. My starter of Caesar salad was large but I wasn’t keen on the McD’s style breaded chicken. The...faux fillet steak was a little over cooked and lacking flavour. Service was efficient. Be aware the French love to smoke and are likely to light up next to you mid-meal! Provably deserves a 3.5 rather than 4.More

Great location by the lake outdoors underneath the large shady unbrellas. The menu du jour was not only good value but excellent and well presented. Don't expect Tibetan food or atmosphere, this is a French restaurant done as it should be.

This is an open air restaurant in Summer with a great range of food. The Plat-du Jour is very popular and great value. Only 1 tibetan dish!

Stopped on way back from market to montreux. Food was fine my wife enjoyed the salad with goats cheese. I had the mussels, a bit ordinary but OK. A pichet of wine for €8 was a treat after paying thru the nose in Switzerland for...ordinary wine. At least ordinary wine has an ordinary price in France. Not bad would go againMore

By the side of Lake Geneva you could forgive yourself for thinking you were in India or Tibet. Lavish antiques, a flair for style and a French Menu to die for. There is something here for almost every budget. Go to their website and see...what is the menu of the day using local and seasonal vegetables. Crème brûlée to die for!More

This restaurant was recommended to us and we weren't disappointed. The filet of beef I had was one of the best I've ever eaten. The two other people in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. Service was excellent.
