Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This small restaurant is at the end of a picturesque street on the edge of the main centre of Evian and has just a few tables outside where you can watch some of the local life in a very relaxed atmosphere. I have eaten there...twice with friends: the menu had two entrée choices, four main courses (one vegetarian), cheese (a local selection), two desserts, and for a fixed price you can choose two or three of these, e.g. entrée and main, main and dessert, entrée, main, cheese, entrée, main, dessert. I have tried the salmon with pistachio crumble, and roast duck with figs, and both were cooked to perfection (which to some people might mean undercooked... but it is just how it should be, tender and juicy). The chef always adds an unusual, sometimes exotic, herb or spice that will leave you guessing. . Good wine list, and it is a pleasure to be given the wine to taste (which does not always happen in Switzerland where I live as our white wine is often screw-topped). For my apéro I tried a kir with chestnut liqueur which was a revelation (kir is usually with blackcurrant). The staff are attentive and friendly, taking the time to chat); the chef is eager to please, has a twinkle in his eye and a wide smile you can see even behind his facemask.More

Lovely to find a restaurant in evian with an imaginative menu different from the rest. Freshly prepared, good ingredients, well worth visiting. A few olives or some tapenade offered with the aperitif would have made such a difference to the meal. Good attentive service

We were in Evian in late November - I think we were lucky to find this superb restaurant open! We were the only customers and think that any other visitors to Evian tonight made an awful mistake going elsewhere. We had the prix fixe menu...- all choices from the a la carte and superb value. Excellent starters and a second course of beef - perfectly cooked in a piquante sauce. It’s a long time since I’ve been in a restaurant where my wine choice has been challenged as “not the right choice for this beef dish” and an alternative almost insisted on. And it was right!! The recommended wine was perfect with the beef. The pudding - oh, to die for. I can not recommend this restaurant highly enough. Superb.More

This was our second visit to the restaurant (the first was a few years ago). Although the first visit was better, this meal was still very enjoyable. Starters and deserts appear to be pre prepared with main courses being cooked fresh. The menu choice is...small which is to be expected for a restaurant of this size. Make sure you reserve a table as the restaurant is small.More

Cozy restaurant with limited seating so make reservations before coming! They have price fix menus where you can combine starter and main or main and dessert or all 3 for a fixed price. The terrine to start was flavorful with a small fresh salad and...good baguette slices. The steak with mushroom sauce was amazing! Cooked perfectly with tons of flavor without being salty or too creamy. The tuna was also cooked perfectly with lots of cooked vegetables - very clean tasting! Food was wonderful and service was attentive. The waitress was welcoming and provided great service. Definitely recommend this place!More

We visited Instant Gourmand for lunch. One chose terrine and tuna the other curried prawns and tuna. We shared a dessert - cherries. The cuisine combines French and international elements in a very interesting way. The service was efficient and friendly. Our wine carafe, Macon...Uchizy, was excellent. Recommended.More

This restaurant is tiny with some five tables. We had lunch here and were very happy with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. For lunch you have three options for each course. As a starter I had the scallop ceviche,...as a Main the potato terrine with Munster cheese.More

Food is tasty and the waitress is really kind. Even though she does not speak that much English, she really did try and things did work out. Recommended.

We were there on a business dinner. The restaurant is cozy and the service was extremely friendly and efficient. The meals I chose were all nicely served and tasty. But maybe my expectation was too high given the rates and comments I read here and...apart from the delicious dessert, the starter and main course were good. Nothing unforgettable as I expected it was going to be...:(More

First off, there are only about 6 tables, so reservations are strongly recommended. The food is carefully prepared, well presented and excellent. The menu is not over large, but with this type of quality, it's not needed. Everything is GREAT !

As almost all restaurants in the city were closed Wednesdays or closed period, we hardly had a choice for dinner. How lucky we were to come here as it was excellent. Not too much of a choice of dishes but something for everyone....meat, fish or...vegetarian. The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented and in perfect portions. Prices were good and the wine list interesting and affordable.. Not very big so reservations are probably necessary at times. The hostess was charming but unfortunately we couldn't meet the chef. We will definitely come back when in the area.More

This is a typical small French restaurant with tables on the street in the summer. There is a good choice of food and the service is attentive and fast. I would definitely recommend for a break during your visit to Evian.
