Le petit George is a tiny and yes cramped but not uncomfortable restaurant so make sure to make a reservation. Very welcoming and smiling waiter and bartender. We asked to be told about the different dishes as a bouchon serves a lot of meat and offal we did not know about but were open to be acquainted with. We were... More

As a top rated bouchon I expected more. The seating was very cramped and uncomfortable and it was so hot inside. The salmon was pretty good and my husbands steak was extremely chewy. It did not live up to its ratings.

There are quite some places in Lyon where you can “experience” a bouchon. But not all of them are serving high quality food. Chez Georges, there is no doubt about that. Food is just succulent here. On the menu you will find most of the typical dishes a bouchon would (and should) offer. My wife had the menu of the... More

That was a great experience, but you must know two things: 1. Really hard to get a table, you need to make a reservation, place is really small. 2. You will not eat a burger there... It will be Lyonnais.

Really did not know what to expect from this restaurant. This is a very small place with typical crowed tables. The tables were fill with locals and those in the know for great food. It was the best representation of Salad Lyonnaise that we had. All the food was terrific. It was also served family style. House wine a winner.... More

I remember this bouchon from my time as a student in Lyon decades ago, when bouchons were part of the daily life. Times and tastes have indeed changed, as has Lyon for the better. Chez Georges has remained a traditional restaurant with good food at good value in a timeless decor with cheek-to-jowl seating. The previous reviews tell tell the... More

This is a traditional Lyonnaise restaurant with many offal dishes which i must admit i did not try. The chef was very friendly and happy to explain the menu to the French-speakers, but unfortunately he didn't speak any English and the menu wasn't available in English. If i didn't have anyone to help i would struggle, as translating the menu... More

We were staying in Lyon for 5 nights and had a family recommendation to dine at this vouch on. We were glad that we booked, by dropping in at lunchtime while looking around the Hotel de Ville and Opera. Even on a Tuesday night, many passers by missed out on a great meal. The two of us each had one... More

The place is very tiny and tables are really closed to one another but this is the "bouchon way of life". We really enjoyed the food and thank god they have air condotionned.

Our local friends invited us to this restaurant with our kids. The chef was helpful in cooking something for the kids. I ate the best "tablier de sapeur" I've had in a long time, all in a very enjoyable authentic setting.
