"One stop pub ideally located, close to Saone river, and historical center. Nice spot, when I'm traveling to Lyon! Cosmopolitan atmosphere, without fuss! Dude, here we have beers, ciders and fish n chips, while rebuilding the world within family feel. Staff is caring and cool.Typical setting and good vibes Only..." Highly recommend! Cheers

Crowded but fun

The place is less comfortable for sitting with children but it is still possible. The food and beer are good and very reminiscent of the neighbors across the street - Wallace. However, unlike the neighbors across the street, the chips here are excellent. A great place to come alone or with friends to watch the game.

If you’re missing bacon and sausages!

If you’re missing good old British food and craving what you can’t get in Lyon / France, this is the place. Loads of British beers and - if you live in France you’ll know you can’t get decent cider. That first pint of Aspall went down in seconds. They import their sausages and bacon from the UK so the all day breakfast is a must. Friendly bi-lingual staff so no issues if you’re not confident in French. Excellent service and a good atmosphere. Lots of French eat / drink here so can’t be too bad!

The food was good, made to order. The meat for the burger was fresh and cooked perfectly. The place is tight or cozy, depending on how you feel. The service was good. All around decent place.

Disappointing !

Stopped here while walking through Lyon on a Sunday afternoon. Great selection of beers and staff really friendly on arrival. We ordered 2 Sunday roasts and waited over an hour for these to arrive. When they came we were very disappointed to receive a small piece of chicken, couple of potatoes and some seasonal ‘tinned’ vegetables. We also received no Yorkshire pudding and when we questioned this we were told they had ran out. This is something we should of been told on ordering because we would of chosen a different option. The breakfasts looked delicious. We were asked if we would like a hash brown or piece of toast to substitute... on a Sunday roast ! Would return for the beers but not for the food.

We are very sorry to hear you were most disappointed with your experience at the Elephant and Castle. Unfortunately, the Sunday you visited was far busier than usual due to the Rugby World Cup games and the Lyon Marathon which passed directly in front of the pub. Our kitchen team were slightly overwhelmed by the amount of orders being placed at the same moment so this is certainly why you have waited so long for your food to arrive and why items on the menu were missing. This is normally something we would warn all customers of far in advance but the amount of people meant it was hard to judge. We of course know that a hash brown or piece of toast by no means is a good substitution for a Yorkshire Pudding but it was all we could offer you in that moment. Once again, we are truly sorry that your experience with us was so disappointing but we are happy to hear that you appreciated our selection of beers! We do hope you visit us again. Watching USA Womens soccer team play FRANCE

Looked around for a bar with tvs so we could watch the USA/France match. Knew we would be outnumbered...However a few USA fans found their way in and shared the fun with us. This small bar busted buns ALL NIGHT to serve the crowd. AND the burgers are pretty tasty too.

Complete with sticky tables, loud conversations in English and your typical drink offerings. Nothing wrong with this place but it doesn't stand out except for the amount of English speakers it attracts.

Atmosphere good. Music good. Staff good. Food and drink offer far below average. A pup not offering Guinness ? Had the chicken tenders and fish and chips. One shall expect typical pup-food and that was what I got. However, there was no taste at all, which means the mashed peas tasted same as the fish and the chicken 🤔. Fries were only half cooked. Sauce Tartare was a disaster. Good to have a pint if you are not up for a Guinness, but not recommendable as far as food is conerned.

We do not offer Guiness as we are an English Brewery so only supply Beers specifically connected to the Charles Wells name. As Guiness is Irish and does not fall under the Charles Wells umbrella, we do not have it on draught at any of our pubs in France, but do offer "Young's London Stout" which is in fact very popular amongst our clients. We are very sorry to hear that you were so disappointed with the quality of our food, especially the "Mushy Peas", and this is something we will certainly address with our chefs to see if there is indeed anything that needs to be improved. We do endeavor to deliver a traditional PUB experience and will certainly take your feedback in to serious consideration regarding our food offers. Great place to unwind

Had a great evening with family in this bar. There was a live band and the atmosphere was great. Very busy with special offers on drinks. Very friendly staff. Would highly recommend going there.
