Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This small family run restaurant serves regional Haute Savoie food. We have eaten there many times and have never had a disappointing meal. The portions are generous but the prices are very very reasonable considering it is Val d'Isere. Highly recommended as it is a...hidden treasure, literally being in the basement of a slope side bar that is very popular at lunch and for Apre ski drinks.More

My family and I stayed in La Daille on our recent trip to Val D’Isere. Our check-in was at five so we already had a late arrival and no food! So we passed the restaurant and immediately decided to go there for dinner. Without reading...the reviews, we just ordered a few starters and some main dishes. They were good but… the minute we ordered we could tell we ordered incorrectly. Everyone around us had these big, beautiful, half wheels of raclette on their tables. It was an absolute sight. We immediately made reservations for a few days later when we went back for our second visit, and had the raclette. It was absolutely amazing! You can clearly see why everyone goes there!!! The ladies serving a very kind and nice (even were helpful with our awful French). The wine list was very good as well. We had a beautiful bottle of chateauneuf the first time and the second I think we had a core du Rhône. But very good in value. I can’t wait for our next trip to Val d’isere and to visit this lovely restaurant again! It’s very very cosy atmosphere! Good for groups, families, dates, we saw it all and all looked like they were having a great time!More

We are coming to Val since more than 30 years and have been to Le Barillon so many times. The food, service and atmosphere is unbeatable. Especially the owners have got friends to us and we are looking forward to our next stay in Val...and Le Barillon. Best regards Rolf with Team from StuttgartMore

We visited this lovely cosy restaurant last night as we didn’t fancy chicken curry as our chalet evening meal. Good choice as it turned out. I had escargot to start and John had onion soup, followed by fillet steak and steak tartare for me. All...just delicious and amazingly good value, with house wine by the half litre picket. A group of men came in whilst we were there claiming they had booked a table but were turned away as all the tables were booked. It is essential to book as it is a small restaurant and it helps the place get the right staffing levels for the service. Only polite really.More

This is a favourite place to eat in La Daille. It is small has a lovely atmosphere and is what I like about alpine restaurants (and locals eat there). The food is very good and we were there for dinner. We had fondue the first...week which is for two, with dried charcuterie. That meal was a bargain in ski resort terms. The second week I had Tartiflette which was yummy, my husband had a steak which was enormous and cooked just as he wanted. Their fruit sorbets with matching eau de vie are a brilliant finish to a cheese heavy meal. Looking forwards to next year's visit. It is also open for lunch and always seems busy.More

After searching online for somewhere to eat we decided to book Le Barillon - we are so happy that we did. Whilst the restaurant is slightly out of the town (we walked around half an hour) there is a bus that travels to and from...the restaurant which makes it so much easier - either way, it is worth the travel. The restaurant itself is super cosy, relaxed and calming. The staff were so friendly and attentive. We both had the beef fondue which was served with fries, salad and a selection of house sauces. The food was incredible and we could not fault the overall experience. Everything is reasonably priced, especially for the area (beef fondue was 26€ each) and a house red was 12€ for half. After finishing our meal we were left to finish our wine and chat, and in no way felt pressured to hurry and leave. We enjoyed ourselves so much we booked to return at the end of our trip whilst we were there. Could not recommend the restaurant enough!More

In La Daille, by piste and bus stop, this is a small, local restaurant, owned by one of the original local families. Good quality local food, big portions, well made food, with choice of styles and tastes. Very good value, charming attentive service.

As a mix of meat-eaters and vegetarians, we all had a superb meal at Le Barillon. The owner surpassed our expectations when we gave her a day's notice that one of our group had an allergy to dairy products and was also vegetarian - she...prepared a special dish for him which was excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we had a wonderful evening. Highly recommended.More

As a Latin person, red meat is something that I really enjoy. Me and my boyfriend tried several restaurants and the meat they serve in this place is just delicious. Everything we order was perfect! I loved the attention of the crew that made this...experience, so special. We ordered entrees, wine, main course and dessert and all I can say is that this guys know what they’re doing. Must stop here if you come to Val d’Isere. The owner is a lovely person that welcomes you with a smile. Definitely recommended 💯More

Located close to the lift base (and shuttle bus stop) at La Daille. Same building as La Rosee Blanche. Pleasant interior. Great, friendly service. Attractive menu. Lovely food. Our tartiflette was splendid. Puddings delicious.

Wish we found this restaurant at the beginning of our stay – we would have returned a few times. Quite easy to take the navette over to the restaurant if you are not staying in this area. Worth the trip for the very fairly priced...pierrades in particular. Lots of choice on the menu and everything was delicious. Highly recommend for families.More

What a great restaurant to have our Christmas Day evening meal! We'd not been before but I booked the table at the end of November for 5 adults, and Kim was so friendly and helpful. We were made to feel really welcome when we arrived,...and the food suggestions were excellent. The food was reasonably priced (with no mark up for Christmas night), beautifully prepared and presented in sensible portions. Wine and desserts were equally good. The evening concluded with complimentary homemade genepi, and the award for the best table with Christmas jumpers! We enjoyed everything about our experience of Le Barillon that before we left we booked to return for our last night meal. Another great evening's French cuisine. Easy to get to near La Daille free bus terminus. We would recommend everyone to have a meal at Restaurant Le Barillon. Merci, merci, merci!!!!More

We were recommended to this small restaurant on our chalet night off. We attracted 20 guests and were rewarded with fabulous service and food at a very affordable rate. We enjoyed a great evening, with very drinkable and fairly priced carafes of house vino and...washed down with complimentary Genepi (too much for my subsequent hangover unfortunately). Great value, great service, lovely mountain food. Buddies tell me lunch is good too.More
