I was really looking forward to an evening with friends at Makamba, but it turns out this place should really be avoided. My experience at Makamba was rather unpleasant. For those who don’t want to read the whole story: The service was unkind and extremely slow and certain customers very treated differently than others. Although the food was ok, it... More

We went there for a family dinner. The positives first: the ambience, service , hygiene are all very good. This is the place one would choose if one prefers a leisurely dinner and want to have a good time with family / friends. Since it is a popular restaurant, better to do advance booking. You get a variety of drinks... More

I had never been in an Eastern African restaurant before so a friend who lives in Stuttgart took us there. The food was very nice, the space is well decorated and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. However, they lack of staff and the service was very slow. It's a good place to go if you wanna have a quiet... More

We wanted to try some African food and after searching some options which were closed we finally landed here. Food taste was certainly good and authentic but we had to wait for whole 1 hour before we got served. Service is extremely slow and they ran out of their typical bread. We were given options of rice and khus-khus which... More

Very good food but service is quite slow... The meat was good, I advise the trying plate with chicken, beef and lamb. Also shame is the incense smell they serve together with tea at the end.

I liked the "probier platte 2" specially the Bamya and the aubergine, perfectly spiced. Its very relaxed, dont go there if ur in a hurry! Just take ur time. Its sometimes challenging to eat Non fingerfood with the fingers, but it can bring up some funny moments... Just enjoy

Makamba offers a unique dining experience in Stuttgart. The food is traditional Ethiopian and is normally eaten using the pancak-like bread in the fingers. The wine list includes both South African and German wines. The service is outstanding.

I was at Makamba in Stuttgart with a group of friends. I already had experience of African restaurant and I tend to be skeptical. We arrived at Makamba and we were soon immersed in a soft candle light atmosphere. The place is small and furnished with African things and the menu is quite large and there is a wide choice... The food is extremely good. I would especially recommend the meat grilled on charcoal. The only problem is that the wait time from the order until you get the food is really long. However, it definitely pays off the wait.

I was so excited to snag a Groupon for Makamba. Unfortunately the experience was aweful. Bottom line up front for those who don't want to hear my story: NON-EXISTENT PARKING, TERRIBLE SERVICE, VERY DISAPPOINTING FOOD. We showed up and the same man I talked to on the phone to make the reservation a few days earlier told me definitely that... More
