I was in Munich for a week recently. There are many great places to eat in Munich, but the food at "Ayinger" was amazing! It was so good, I ate there twice. Both meals were delicious. The atmosphere is pretty standard for Bavarian restaurants, warm...More

Needed refreshment after a long day of sightseeing and Christmas markets, we popped in here for a few beers. Sat at the bar as we were not having food. The service received was so inconsistent from the lovely welcome we received from Florian at the...More

Dear Rae R, thank you for your feedback about your visit in our restaurant. It’s a pity that the team at the restaurant was not able to meet your expectations. They are trying their best to offer our guests a service which is on a...More

In a city of great eating and drinking, this place stands out - for all the wrong reasons. From the rude “welcome” from the arrogant chap on the front desk, to the overpriced food and relatively naff beer, this is comfortably the worst experience we...More

We decided to eat here during a tour through the inner city of Munich and we were amazed by the quality of the food! Wirtshaus Ayinger is directly opposite Hofbräuhaus and is a perfect choice for a hearty German meal! They brew their own beer...More

Lovely traditional German restaurant serving a variety of German dishes but some more unusual food too If you like duck and have a good appetite you could do worse than selecting that option. Sausage options hams and schnitzel as you’d expect and a good variety...More

We visit Ayinger often when we're in Munich, it's one of the smaller, quieter restaurants, but great food and great beer. It's always a pleasure sitting outside in the square and watching the world go past. The service is good, typically German, which might be...More

We had the duck with dumplings and the pork steak with dumplings. Both meats good, the portions were also good, the quality as well. The corn dumplings were really bad, without any taste, downgraded the quality of the food.

We booked this restaurant after they said they could cater for gluten free. There were a few options, but you must speak to your server because they don’t seem to be on the menu. I had trout with salad and asparagus. There is a disclaimer...More

Took family here twice this visit and both times were fantastic. Service was outstanding (friendly and helpful), beer is great, loved everything we tried food-wise and it is a great location (across street from Hofbräuhaus). Look forward to coming back on our next visit to...More

With its Bavarian cuisine the Wirtshaus Ayingers embodies lively inn tradition at a historic site. From original Munich 'Weisswurst' and roasts to fresh fish from nearby lakes - we serve fresh and creative dishes in the heart of Bavaria's capital. Of course no meal is complete without the exquisite beers from the family-owned brewery in Aying. Six draft beers are available daily. The furnishings are rustic and cosy, and 140 seats provide lots of authentic "Wirtshaus" character. Eighty additional spaces are available on the patio in the summer. Yes, this is traditional ambience - but that does not mean doing without modern conveniences: Free wireless LAN means that business or private matters can be attended to directly.
