Gemütlichkeit in historical surroundings. On the bottom floor of the new town hall in the Marienplatz. Typically German fare—what else? It's delicious brats and beer…Painted walls are photo-worthy!

Dear SueCliff52, thank you very much for taking the time to write us. We appreciate feedback a lot. The room "Arche Noah", which you are probably talking about, is famous to lots of culturally interested tourists from all over the world. I can only recommend reserving a table in this room in advance. It´s considered the perfect experience to sit.... More

Dear Riss R., what you were writing is absolutely true. All of our four entrances do not represent the size of our restaurant at all. We can seat 1100 people at 246 different tables. The entire restaurant area is approximately 60000 sq. ft. Currently, about 170 people are doing their very best to serve our guests at the highest level... More

What a friendly place. It's huge and underground with a great atmosphere. We popped in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised warm welcome with tasty beer and good food. My only regret is we didn't go back and try the little pub in the premises

Dear Sjc462, thank you very much for your nice comments on our restaurant. The Royal Dolores Munich Pub is actually an all new site within our restaurant. It´s focus is on a very wide range of spirits and beers. We also do serve many of our main dishes in a tapas size. This gives you the chance to try a... More

It was invented in 1463 and the recipe has been the same since. As far as I know, McDonald´s was invented in the 1950ies. And neither Ray... More

I got lost in the basement of this vast establishment. I was looking for the restaurant which served a Vitello Tonato like dish. I had seen online. I never made it to the restaurant because I was greeted by 2 wonderful ladies at the long bar who made me feel very welcome. It was like visiting a friend's home. It... More

I was there with a group of friends, mainly because of the place's central location etc. In that respect it performed well, the restaurant is huge, the waiting staff is reasonably friendly. The prices are on the high side, but that's to be expected in the centre of Munich, probably Germany's most expensive town. But what I really take offense... More

Dear UltimateAdvisor, what you consider a lie was probably just a misunderstanding. I don´t think it would make sense to go into details now since it has probably been a while since you´ve been here.... I can only advise you to have a restaurant manager come to your table, whenever you got a question that your waiter or waitress can´t... More

I came here in November with my wonderful wife and 2 friends as part of a 'big birthday ' surprise. The food and drink were excellent. My friend ordered a bottle of wine for himself, but was lost in translation, so he ordered himself a large glass of red, which came in a glass goblet containing at least a half... More

Visited here on business trip with colleagues. Good location but average. Average food, average to indifferent service, atmosphere like a cafeteria, pictures menus.

Dear TimPA 1004, you comment is the best prove for the thesis, that everybody has got different preferences and feelings about the same thing. Our friend brought us to this network of restaurant under the Rathaus and it is very beautiful, food was great and service was great too. You can see the original building as well and they have added some window panels to break it up so that you feel as if there is a view to look out into.

Different than the H-House, this was a nice place to eat. Service was good - ask for English menus (but sure they will figure it out before you ask) if you need them. Atmosphere and everything that was around was great. This is probably a touristy location - and I am chomping in full force, but give it a try... More

Dear THEMPK, thank you for taking the time to give us such detailed feedback. We do follow a fairly different concept than the Hofbräuhaus. They focus on beer and very traditional basic food, which is extremely successful, while we concentrate on wine and a little more fancy cuisine. I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed to stay here... More

Description
Defeinitely worth a visit, particularlyduring the wine festival. Wine is kept in the vaulted cellars. The light is kept out by the great arches. A gargoyle watches over the guests. In the rustic and snug ambiance, you can opt for a choice of axes from the Middle Ages, and a gallery of the Franconian wine kings. The team makes a conscious effort in their red aprons. This place is for the 40+ crowd who party like they are young again. The Baden and Franconian wine choices will not disappoint you.
