Recent visit had us have an early dinner and even though it was before 5pm, was very busy. Decent service, shame though that only Helles beer is Lowenbrau (Munich’s worst in my view...). Shared a very generous mixed starter plate, but would observe that much...More

Dear Alex B., next time, check out the beverage menu, which is located on every table. You will not only find Löwenbräu Helles, but also Tegernseer, Augustiner and Franziskaner Helles. Best greetings from Munich, Martin Wieser

Food was tasty - the prices are slightly inflated due to being in a tourist hotspot (underneath the town hall). The service was fine - we ended up having to ask twice for the bill but in the end up walked up to the bar...More

Dear Geoff P, I feel overwhelmed by what you wrote about us. It makes me even prouder, since before x-Mas, we are very busy and always afraid, that we might not be able to keep up our high standards at all times. I am glad...More

Dear Ze C, to us, it´s the greatest honor possible whenever non-locals decide to come and have lunch or dinner at our place, as soon as they come to town. And yes, your are absolutely right: We are not among the cheapest restaurants in Munich....More

Great beer, good enough food, great rooms and pleasant service. It's not a gourmet experience but it has a nice family as well as an authentic feel.

Dear Dohn T., we really appreciate it, whenever non-locals are trying to speak our phonetically ugly and difficult language, trust me. However, since about half of our staff is not native German-speakting themselves, they are trying to avoid mistakes by speaking English, whenever it applies....More

I visited this place before, this time found it to be very touristy and not good . The Nuremberg sausages came cold not appetizing at all. If you are looking for a place without booking just walking this is the place but not friendly service.

Had a couple of beers here before going out for dinner. Excellent ambiance, despite being a large restaurant you feel like in a living room. Great Greek waiter, good beer and free peanuts.

Description
The restaurant is located in the very heart of Germany´s secret capital - the Marienplatz of Munich. There is no way you will get more down-town, since the Ratskeller is located in the cellar of the new town hall - built in the late 19th century... There are few places where you get to see more history while enjoying some of Munich´s best traditional dishes... We certainly do offer vegan and vegetarian meals, too. Approx. 20% of our menu consists of meat-free food. We really hope to see you here soon!
