The pancake soup was so bland it was virtually tasteless. The roast pork, served with dumplings and salad, was very dry and uninteresting. The only good course was the fruit dessert.

We simply stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around. We actually had tried to get into a nearby restaurant and they were full so we ended up here and we are lucky that we did. it was a great meal and we had excellent service. My wife and daughter got a soft cheese spread thing as an appetizer and I... More

We had lunch at Zum Franziskaner during our last w-end in Munchen. The place is centrally located and very big!. The service wasn't prompt but probably because it is Sunday and the place was really crowded ! The food was very good, especially Wiener Schnitzel and the price reasonable ! I think I would come here again. Highly recommended !!

Very disappointed to have visited this place. We were hungry after the visit at the Residency and we saw the classic Bavarian flag so we chose this place. And there we foud no german waiters but only multi etnical people who don't match for nothing with the expectation of a good bavarian restaurant. Menu was very basic and prices very... More

We like Munich, a city that I found charming. We visited several time this restaurant because it is situated close to our hotel. This time although we sit quickly , the service was awful. They did not clean the table. I don't remember how many time I asked for pretzels or coffee which we decided not to drink at the... More

Large Restaurant with several rooms, all of them have their own character. The staff is very friendly. The Food is excellent, be it a few sausages at lunch time or a bigger meal at dinner, all of it is very good.

Had a lunch break here, among the dirndls and lederhosen, and typical clothing of Bavaria, which many of the locals wear, or at least in part. So lots of felt hats, military cut boiled wool jackets and cardigans, frilly skirts and dresses, etc. Not dressing up! Just what they wear. It's common in Bavaria to share tables, so I joined... We make it a habit to visit Zum Franziskaner every time we are in Munich. It is in the center of town close to the Opera and in the pedestrian district. It is one of the oldest, best knowns, and unique Munich restaurants with a great selection of Bavarian specialities, excellent beer, and courteous service. It gets ccrowded at lunch... More

It is a large, stylish restaurant/pub. Very busy. Quite difficult to get a table up front in the pub part. Good, fast service. Multilingual staff. My colleagues liked their meals (some had the traditional "leber kaese"). I ordered (also traditional) pork hog and hated it. It was hard and dry. But the excellent beer nicely washed it down.
