We ventured out in the evening, not really knowing where we were going to go for dinner, and ended up at the ratskeller. We waited over half an hour, as it was very busy, but we were finally seated by a very friendly waitress. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and would return again.

Went here for lunch on our trip in Germany. My wife had the wienerschnitzel and I had the steak and noodles. Both were very good. I also had a Riegele aechtes dunkel beer. Excellent. This was one of the best meals we had while in Germany this trip.

We visited for lunch with my family. It was very busy, so better make a reservation in advance. We tried the original schnitzel and it was fantastic. Pricing is reasonable and service was good and very traditional as well.

Our tour guide to Neuswastine tipped us off to a good restaurant in Augsburg, the Ratskeller, it wasn't a good restaurant it was a great one. We all agreed it was the best dining experience we had in Germany. Located in the cavernous basement of the city hall it is very large an at that we were still lucky to... More

German cuisine, expertly prepared and gigantic portions make this a 'must' in Augsburg. The restaurant is quite large but with an excellent historic atmosphere that's been modernised. The staff were helpful and friendly. Very reasonable prices too! But reserve in advance because it's very popular with locals and is always full.

I am not really a pork eater but I am now converted. The pork schnitzel was delicious and tender and huge. This restaurant has a beautiful outdoor setting. We came here with my husbands aunt and uncle who live in Augsburg. There were no spare tables left however they were happy to accommodate us especially when they knew my husband... More

In this very old German town you can be surprised by historical sites, nice landscapes and eating well besides drinking beer. The Ratskeller Restaurant, located in the basement of the town hall and having a very nice architecture, has gotten a very good atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. I've been there twice and would go there again eventually.

Thank Fanascimento

The cosy atmosphere of the Gewlbes in Ratskeller Augsburg is steeped in tradition and extremely inviting, and allows you to get away from the reality of everyday life for a few hours.

Whether you opt for something substantial like the 'Wirtshaus classic', or a lighter option such as grilled pike perch on a bed of leaf spinach with lobster sauce and herb potatoes, or something sweet such as caramelised sugared pancake with roasted almonds, raisins and apple mousse, there is something to suit everyone's taste. Children and vegetarians are also well catered for. For example, food cooked in vegetable oil is marked up especially on the menu. Furthermore, the lunchtime menu changes on a daily basis.

he drinks menu also caters to your every desire, with anything from cold beer to alcohol-free cocktails, that taste twice as nice during happy hour - anything is possible. As a thrilling alternative, a number of Murder Mystery Dinners are organised throughout the year in Ratskeller in Augsburg.
