Not to be confused with a similarly named 'Gasthof' across the square, this restaurant was relaxed, traditional and was a bit different to other german restaurants we've visited. We shared garlic mushrooms to start, then had roast lamb and schnitzel for mains. They're fairly simple dishes but both tasted nice enough. The staff were very friendly, and asked what nationality... Was looking for a local restaurant after visiting Neuschwanstein Castle. Found this restaurant at the heart of the town. The decoration is very rustic, traditional German style. I was attracted when I saw the soup in bread on tripadvisor. So we ordered a mushroom soup, pork knuckle, and a pan fried pork fillet in mushroom sauce. The portion of the... More

The restaurant is located in the heart of town. It has an interesting set-up with a decor of knight's amours, swords, skins of hunted boars and loads of Bavarian flags hung around the various rooms of the restaurant. The staff is very polite and helpful with navigating the various options on the menu. I opted for a local beer and... More

That's a mediaval experience. Lively atmosphere with fun serving. Food is good quality. Please note they do not accept credit cards, so be prepared in advance.

Füssen has a lot to offer for a small town. One place definitely worth a visit is Gasthof Krone. It's in the middle of the old town, so the place you'll probably be if visiting Füssen. The building is impressive to start with, at the back of a square, with a traditional painted façade. The restaurant is themed: although the... More

This is a very big restaurant and the front is a normal German restaurant but in back it is completely different and much more fun. The back is a couple of big rooms filled with groups and tables of people laughing, drinking and just enjoying themselves. The first thing is that they give you a bib instead of a napkin... More

We went here on the recommendation of our hotel staff. We found it easily because it had seen in that afternoon while shopping. We were seated in the winter garden an outdoor space with a canvas roof and heat. I ordered a sausage dish and my wife only ordered soup. I was sick that night and all the next day.... More

Rick Steves recommended this restaurant...its touristy, not gonna lie. But the service and food are all pretty good, and prices are reasonable. The interior decor and the staff's costumes are medieval and tacky, but entertaining. €3.50ish for a variety of 500ml draft beers. €14.20 Roast Pork Knuckle...its HUGE! And delicious! €18.50 Best cut of pork...this is some sort of pork... More

As we are just few days in Germany, we want good German food. This place did not disappoint us. The grilled pork is excellent and highly recommended. Mushroom soup is good but a bit too salty for us. The service is very good. Our baby girl was making a bit of a mess but they were ok with it. Overall... More

If you want a good lunch, sit outside and enjoy people watching. If you want a good lunch and a semi-corny over done themed setting, sit inside. Everything is decorated, included the staff, to look like a mid evil knight's dining hall. You also get a giant bib draped over you to keep you clean. Gee, thanks. If you can... More
