We were squeezed in & had an excellent meal, totally justifying our hotel's recommendation. Well priced at less than €40 for 2. Cosy, with great service. We'd go back.

We were staying at the Gästehaus am Klosterhof next door and, once having dropped off our bags we scurried into the Altfrankische Weinstube to place our dinner orders before the kitchen closed. Actually our land lady was drinking in this nice little establishment so we felt that we would be safe it getting something to eat even though it was... More

This was our last day in Rothenburg and me and Mom decided to go have dinner here as this was our second option on where we were going to stay. The interior was really really beautiful and original but I can't even say if the service was good or not because we waited for almost 2 hours there and there... More

Wonderful place to stay and to eat. Small rooms, but very nice, and you are only sleeping in them in this town! Close to the entry gate, wall and not far from parking outside the wall. Highly recommended!

Day 2 We are celebrating my inlaws 50th wedding anniversary and on our second night we had plans to eat here. My wife and I have been here before with her aunt and uncle. We knew that tonight, Wednesday, was the meeting of the English conversation club. We have met Herman the German on a prior trip as well. I'm... More

Recommended by our hotel owner and it was delicious. Quarters are tight but the room has much character. It was the best schnitzel I had while I was in Germany. Just something we learned that I wish others shared with us. If you are looking for the check - you have to ask for it. We sat there waiting for... More

We have eaten here on each of our 7 visits to the town and have also stayed in the hotel 5 of them. It is best to make a reservation as it can get very busy. Service can be slow and interactions from the staff are straightforward but we enjoy drinking the wine and watching the crowd and have never... More

Mario, the owner, was in hospital, but Rene, his chef was handling everything very well! We were staying here and had made prior arrangements to dine at 8:00p.(We booked the restaurant when we booked our rooms - several months prior). The food was beautifully presented and so fresh! The atmosphere was so 'Old World". Ask for the table in front... More

Almost self consciously atmospheric like an old fashioned beerkeller but with a bit of a witch theme going on. I had cheese noodles topped with fried onions which were very tasty although baked quite crisp. It came with a house salad with a lovely dill dressing and I had a glass of a very nice house white. My husband had... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we weren't disappointed. The food was very well done and the atmosphere was a perfect match. We ate inside, but there was also a terrace. I have pork tidbits in a beautiful mushroom sauce and home made spätzle. The side salad was the best salad I had in Europe. Prices were reasonable. Portion size... More
