I have visited this place with a large group- we booked the place for 50 people for a finger food dinner. What they served was very little food and quite boring, tasteless thing. And we had to pay 50 Eur/person for the food and drinks. We tried to ask for some more food as everyone was starving, but the whole... More

And at the begining of Unter den Linden!! Tucked away in a shady square, next to the beautiful Neue Wache and the Gorki Theatre. Peaceful atmosphere, good food, slow but kind service. We had dinner outside, under the trees and we did have a rest. If you don´t believe a nice potato soup exists in this world, try the one... More

We were there in the summer, and we sit outside on the terrace. It was pleasant and nice. We were there at luch time and we ate menü. The price was very good (it was 5,90€) and it was a big portion. The people at the Deutsches Historisches Museum recommended this cafe to us, since it was within walking distance. My friend and I walked inside and chose a table. We were ignored for several minutes, and when the waiter finally approached, he took our orders. I ordered in German and my friend in English. We ordered potato soup with bacon and... More

We took a break from the German Museum and found this jewel of a restaurant. Our service was very good. Food was great. Had a light lunch of soup and salads. The Pear Curry Soup was excellent!

Weary after a morning visiting the attractions of Unter Den Linden? Call into this café for refreshments. A quiet tree surrounded terrace - perfect for a cold beer and a salad on a hot spring day. Nice choice of cakes - we shared an delicious käsekuchen. Large indoor room for cooler days. Close to the Unter Den Linden Staatsoper.

We enjoyed a simple lunch of soup and bread washed down with local beer. A very relaxed restaurant, good service and the soup was most satisfactory.

We just had drinks in Cum Laude, away from the tourist crowd although really close to the hotspots of Unter den Linden. A nice place to rest your feet, and very close to a large population of the academics and students of the Von Humboldt University.

A calm and civilised ambience not far from major attractions. Food was wholesome and good portions sizes . Service was unfussy and prompt. Good value for money.

Food took well over an hour to arrive, fine when it came but not worth the wait. Woefully understaffed, restaurant was not even full!

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
