Reservations are highly recommended. We got there a little earlier than our reservation time and they were willing to clear up a couple of tables for our party. After that however, we waited 20 minutes just to get the menus and the waitress looked past us several times. The food was really good. If you want a good Bavarian meal,... More

I was a bit nervous about taking my South African guest here to experience some typical Bavarian food, as there have negative as well as positive reviews. However, it had been a strenuous day and we felt like eating locally. My fears were absolutely unfounded. The Hax'nhaus is located at the top of the pedestrian Zone down to the Greenich... More

Very good local food served in this restaurant. Simple decorations, family style with reasonable price. Delicious Eisbien dishes, recommended poached pork knuckles would be better than deep fried one. Flaxible and allow Asian people to share big dishes. Sometimes, restaurant offers buy one get one free. Good and worth trying!

Stopped here with my family tonight for dinner. Great food, great service. Order anything and they do it well!

The food is good honest "German" food. A Bavarian feel in the northwest of Berlin. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there, but if in the area it is a good place to stop. The schnitzel is lovely!

We were visiting friends who recently moved in nearby and they said this was a place they meant to try. We visited on a Tuesday evening and got the 2 for 1 special. All 4 of us ordered Schweinshax'n (pork knuckle) and the meat was excellent and the sauerkraut and dumplings were very nice as well. So good that we... More

Last visit in 2006. Was very good then. Sunday evening very few customers long wait for food. Waiter could not quite manage English and our Germany was even worse. We had duck, lamb, goulash and soup. All was good, none was excellent. Service was almost efficient but definitely not friendly. Was recommended after my last visit, not so much after... More

Nice and friendly place for a good food to feed everybody. Placed at the pedestrian area to watch people going by. In summertime nice Places outside under large trees. Nearby perfect traffic connections and the Tegeler See, one of the beautiful lakes in Berlin. Start a boat trip there!!

Visiting friends in the Tegel area of Berlin and had dinner in the Haxnhaus. It was excellent, the quality and value of the food was great. Service was quick and friendly and the restaurant was busy with locals, always a good sign. I had the Schnitzel which was succulent and cooked perfectly, my friends all enjoyed their choices just as... More

A piece of Bavaria right at the square in Tegel. Ordered haxe (asked for bratkartoffeln instead of klosse as side dish) with sauerkraut. It came with a gravy, lots of mustard and the best sauerkraut I've had in years. The haxe was small but cooked to perfection. The potatoes delicious... And the sauerkraut was worth the trip. Friendly, informal staff.... More
