The menu was very limited and it felt like they only made schnitzel and bratwurst to cater for tourists. The food was too salty and the chips tasted so obviously frozen as they had no flavour. The schnitzel was crispy but a bit dry. The wait staff were very friendly.

Don't let the decor fool you. This is a terribly basic restaurant, serving food for coach tours, not expecting return customers. Didn't eat half the meal, having the same lukewarm and soft ingredients in every dish reused leftovers from the buffet and cooked from frozen. The soup I ordered was obviously reconstituted powder with extra MSG. Staff was unhappy and... More

This is a very limited restaurant. The food is warm and soft and that is the only friendly thing I can say about it. It is simply not very tasty. The staff is not very friendly. I had some over-cooked soppy pasta, rice and some kind meat which I think was pork. But I am not sure.

In my opinion this restaurant is AMAZINGly bad. First of all, I work as a chef but besides that I'm not that picky on eating. We got a groupbuffet with a variety of terribly cooked vegetables, dried-out pasta, rice that was simply disgusting with some meat on it. Desert was some sort of cheesecake that didn't had any taste. Even... More

I was the only one who ate something different, it was simply some pork with mashed potato (costing over 15 euros)and I was the only one to have severe sickness the next day- make your own judgments on that. Overly priced and limited menu, even the schnitzel which the others had was very plain. The place was empty and even... More

There was only one other table occupied when we went in (maybe we were a little late for the German dinner hour?) and the only ones after a short while. As we were finishing our dinner, we noticed that gradually the lights were being turned off, so it felt as if we were being encouraged to leave. We had soup,... More

The decor was impressive and the staff were welcoming enough. Our starter plate (shared) was nice enough but my wife's main course was burnt on one side. In addition, a very limited menu.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
