After arriving at the Intercontinental Hotel in Berlin dead tired, we decided to eat in the hotel. The only other restaurant in the hotel open for dinner is the Michelin-stared Hugo's. Not wanting to spend an arm and a leg for dinner when we were so tired, we opted for Marlene's. It is a small restaurant with a very nice... More

The Marlene Bar is part of the Berlin Intercontinental Hotel but there is a little Restaurant hidden in the corner. Dressed as a library the restaurant is served by the Bar and provides a short but varied menu. Staff are curteous and multilingual but torn between Bar and Restaurant one can sometimes feel a little neglected. The food is good... More

Our family walked all up and down the street looking for a dinner place and not finding anything we liked, finally landed back at the hotel. We thought the hamburgers for 19 euros and bottles of still water for 8 euros was a bit steep, but not unexpected for hotel restaurants. Then when the food arrived the portions were huge.... More

The bartender here was incredibly rude. I speak fluent German and the second he detected an American accent, he began to insult me in front of the other bartenders. Little did he know, I knew exactly what he was saying. Great hotel, but the bar and bar service was horrible and I will NEVER go back.

Good and attentive service. It does not have a big menu but managed efficiently. There are a few traditional dishes offered.

This bar is in the hotel that the conference was in. Had some drinks here. Comfy place to chat with friends.

Great place for evening or late night drink. The surrounds are beautiful and brings one back to Berlin of yesteryear.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
