Perfect spot to start your discovery tour in Berlin. Close to Alexander Platz, Reichstag, Brandenburger Tor, Dome of Berlin. Take the Reichsuferweg in direction to Reichstag. Fantastic cafe and location. Try Kaiserschmarrn, american pancakes or anything with cinnamon.you will not be disappointed. The 5th star is missing as I had to wait very long for ordering and paying.

We had a great early Sunday breakfast here. Ordered Belgian waffles, and they were delicious. Did not have to wait long, even though the place was getting full quickly. Also, great views outside the cafe, and it is not far from Friedrichstrasse.

Walking on the banks of the river we came across this restaurant and went for coffee. We had the most beautiful coffee and pancakes. The ambiance in the coffee shop was delightful with lots of families and friends getting together on a Sunday morning

We found this place by TripAdvisor after our visit to the museumsinsel. Very close and easy to find. We had to wait for a little while because the place was full but it was totally worth it. Great coffee and tarts ( we had the cheese and peach one). We will definitely visit it again!

Met up with some friends for a late breakfast. We were able to book a table and found that was a good idea as it was packed solid with customers and some were waiting on a table to become free. Plenty to choose from on the menu as well as lots of different drinks, hot and cold. I personally selected... More

Enjoyed one tango deluxe for two and a couple of cappuccino. Hot eggs, cold cuts and cheeses and veggies with some bacon and sausages on the side. Busy place. Glad we had reservations or we would not have gotten seated. Very nice selection of foods. 30Euro for two was very reasonable.

Fantastic pancakes and cheeses with excellent coffee. Very friendly staff - good way to start the day and it's central location on the river is an added bonus

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
