This restaurant was recommended by the reception of our hotel near the Gendarmenmarkt . With a group of friends, we went there to try and we loved the atmosphere since we came in + our waiter, the food, the beer . Had a wonderful time. I went for the goulash that was too delicious. Definitely a great restaurant !

We wanted to experice some typical food while visiting Berlin, and I must say this met our expectations. We came back twice so we could taste most things on the menu. Everything we had was fantastic and beer was great too

Nice place, very good customer service, great typical german food and beer. Share the port knuckle but it is worth trying and can't loose their delicious "Kaiserschmarrn", leave some place for it, perfectly caramelized served with very good plums and vainilla ice cream.

We struck gold on our first day in Berlin, finding this restaurant. The service was so friendly & the food served so very quickly & it was so very good. Try the assortment of Biers, Weizen Bier, Edelstoff, Helles Lager or The strong Augustiner Dunkel. Recommendeded for friends and couples or solo visitors. Originally brewed by Augustiner Monks back in 1328 the variety of Bier offered are a taste of Bavaria. The meals are cheap, and I recommend the Leberkase with spiegel Ei. Don't expect a quiet atmosphere as this... More

Lovely location in Gendarmenmarkt with traditional authentic German food. Good value and speedy service! Small selection of German beers also.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
