Looked at previous reviews and thought I'd give it a go. The food was excellent. I had the salmon with a cognac flambé which is done at the table. They were good sized portions, the service was great. Very reasonably priced too. I ate early but it started getting busy by 8pm, with some large parties. I imagine at the... More

I definitely recommend this restaurant to people who love meat. Their choice is wide and top quality, and they cook it incredibly. It's tender and very tasty. Surrounding atmosphere is very nice, and so is the service. Wine list won't disappoint you either. Absolutely worth a vist.

We enjoyed our dinner. Though very busy and clearly very popular, we were well served and the advice given by the server was excellent.

We went to this restaurant following a recommendation on trip advisor. On arrival, we were left waiting at the entrance for fifteen minutes whilst staff cleaned up our table from previous guests. The place itself is lovely. Quirky decoration, good location. It seemed to take an age to get served. Sadly, a German family who arrived a long time after... More

We visited this establishment last night. We had a lovely waitress (Priscilla) and the food was good. As the previous reviewer said, short menu and extensive wine list. I had the mixed plate of entrecote steak, spare ribs and chicken. The steak was delicious, the ribs were good but the chicken was a bit dry. I would have given this... More

Really enjoyed the restaurant, every product they use is very specific, like porks that feed on apples, chicken from a very specific area, and more. Seems that they've taken classic German kitchen and upleveled it enormously. I've had cold smoke duck breast with cranberry reduction and deconstructed Waldorf salad and a broiled meat platter - chicken, Entrecote and spare ribs... More

Good food, short menu and extensive wine list. Service was friendly but a little pedestrian. We had liver and chicken, both of which were good, along with rosemary potatoes that were perfectly cooked.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
