This is a great place for breakfast, brunch, afternoon tea & cake or just a quiet beer, offering seating on a terrace on the Lietzensee, a small, pretty lake in the heart of Berlin. It is a self-service establishment, with no frills, and it doesn't accept CREDIT CARDS, but the food is excellent. So, whether you want breakfast (served until... More

Lovely outside eating at the banks of Lietzensee lake , perfect to spend a relaxed afternoon. They do serve some basic food here ( cakes and snacks ) , but this place is mainly about sitting outside enjoying the sun and the beautiful surroundings while having a civilized drink of some sort….

Beautiful weather - cool and sunny in the afternoon made the place more pleasant. Beer and wine great but food so-so. But location made up for it.

Located directly across Witzlebenplatz from our apartment, we could see (and hear) das Bootshaus every day late into the evening -- always pleasant sounds of people enjoying food and drink. We stopped in for lunch one day and shared an excellent ricotta-spinach stuffed ravioli with a sage cream sauce and a couple glasses of house red and white. Food selection... More

Excellent location. Self service - no problem. But coffee is very bad. So if you plan a lovely pit stop after a good walk you have good place with bad coffee

I have been here relative iften this year (2012-2013). Food: Bad. Pasta overcooked! it looks healthy, but for the price you pay, very bad cooked, and poor quality. Pizza extremely bad (oven ready-pizza). Service: friendly, but too slow, considering they ate so many. As usual in Berlin, no service at tables!...I don't like that! Place: It is very nice!!! taking... More

after a nice walk round the Litzensee, this cafe is the best option to enjoy the sun with a nice coffee, maybe a cake. many people come here late (or also early morning in summer then) to read the newspaper and meet friends - in a very relaxed atmosphere in middle of all different type of people (single, friends, family,... Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
