Came in on recommendation from a nearby restaurant that had stopping serving. Despite being quite late, we were seated quickly by friendly staff who all spoke excellent English. Had pizza with beef, rocket and cheese and these was really good. Would recommend.

This place was really nice. The staff is very welcoming, friendly and knows how to handle guests. The food was good and the atmosphere very pleasant. Reservation went quick, the food took a bit longer but we were a group of 6 people.

We had dinner here last night and were very pleased with the entire experience. Our waiter was extremely helpful and friendly and gave really good food and wine recommendations. We will definitely be back.

We happened upon Osteria by chance- and because it was buzzing with people- we decided to give it a try. We were welcomed in and shown to a table for 4 by the wine rack....There was quite a variety so we then sat and watched what folk were ordering. All of the dishes were well presented and in some cases... More

We stumbled across Osteria Caruso by accident two nights ago and were delighted to find a really high quality Italian Restaurant just down from Potsdamerplatz and arounnd the corner from our Hotel Movenpick in Schoenbergerstrasse. The staff are all Italian and friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful and the food is of uniformly excellent quality. The food is unmistakably and definitely Italian.... More

Attracted by the pictures. Not good at all. Poor service food and ambiente. Uninspired food. The restaurant appears to be an exquisite one but then your hopes fail.

Plenty of selection including gluten free options. Food was very well cooked and the service was very attentive. A family run restaurant with a really nice atmosphere an plenty of attention to detail.

Can't understand some of the negative reviews, we (2 couples) all had something different from the menu and we all agreed it was an excellent Italian meal served by friendly staff

The place looks nice and authentic and I was really looking forward to good italian food. The pizza I ordered was OK at best. The anchovy was good, but so-so dough, not altogether baked and low quality and few olives. Compared to authentic Italian pizza this was sub-par. What a shame.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
