Took a walk through the tiergarten - checked one of the signs for somewhere to get coffee. Ended up at this cosy little spot, was perfect for a winters day. Had a lovely coffee and German dessert. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Quite pricey but loved the environment.

The service is terrible! For a crowded restaurant they have 2 servers! You have to ask for everything, you are ignored, and the food is not that good and over priced to be ignored. It might be a good place if the service improves because the building has a cool vibes but skip this place, it is nothing special. It... More

We came here for dinner one evening and was pleasantly surprised with the location and quality of food. The menu varies with traditional German dishes as well as pizzas. The restaurant is decorated for the holidays and is tucked among the biergarten in the Tiergarten. I would recommend having a reservation if you are going for dinner.

How can such a charming place have a bad service, working listlessly, slowly. Just two are professional waiters, the rest appear to have a bad day or a endless night behind. Thanks God the place offers a nice environment and international clientele. Also the short Menu is mostly tasteful. For a journey in the greeny Tiergarten without hurry, just that.

Went here with all the family, 6 adults and 5 kids. You have to book if you want to guarantee a table. It was December so very cold outside; however there were several roaring log fires inside. The service is very good, the menu extensive, atmosphere great.

Charming atmosphere. Coffee, tea and desserts were nice. Especially in Christmas time it is a nice place to be. Except the service which was from average to bad, at least in our case.

We were staying 5 minutes away in a big, international chain hotel and the concierge recommended this place. We arrived via the bridge over the canel, and the cafe/restaurant emerged like an oasis in the darkness with its twinkling lights! What a delight we found...decorated beautifully in tasteful Christmas decs, open log fire and candles on every table, it was... More

Discovered this place in the woods. Very different with blazing wood burners. Had beers one day and next day took friends too who had just arrived. Although service slow were given English menus and such a great place to drink ..it could be forgiven. The pizzas were delicious and not expensive. We loved it. Just don't go if you are... More

We went there with 8 people. Everyone was super unhappy, it had no taste and was cold. I ordered 'Gulasch mit Spätzle'. Meat was cold and really dry, spätzle were super hard and brussels sprouts were too soft close to pap.

I thoroughly enjoyed 'discovering' this amazing place whist strolling in the Tiergarten on a chilly late Autumn afternoon. It looks a shambles, but the food and atmosphere inside was warm, welcoming and vibrant. Log stoves kept the place warm plus the smell of pizza being cooked in a wood oven. If you like authentic thin pizzas with minimal junk on... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
