Discovered this place in the woods. Very different with blazing wood burners. Had beers one day and next day took friends too who had just arrived. Although service slow were given English menus and such a great place to drink ..it could be forgiven. The pizzas were delicious and not expensive. We loved it. Just don't go if you are... More

We went there with 8 people. Everyone was super unhappy, it had no taste and was cold. I ordered 'Gulasch mit Spätzle'. Meat was cold and really dry, spätzle were super hard and brussels sprouts were too soft close to pap.

I thoroughly enjoyed 'discovering' this amazing place whist strolling in the Tiergarten on a chilly late Autumn afternoon. It looks a shambles, but the food and atmosphere inside was warm, welcoming and vibrant. Log stoves kept the place warm plus the smell of pizza being cooked in a wood oven. If you like authentic thin pizzas with minimal junk on... More

A great location within the beautiful Tiergarten Park. Perfect setting and lovely interior to the restaurant. That's as far as we got! We tried to go to the restaurant for Sunday lunch but unfortunately they were fully booked. We were greeted by a very rude maitre d who made no effort to accommodate us inside or outside the restaurant. We... More

We visited after a walk through the Tiergarten and loved this place. It's a beautifully atmospheric spot in late afternoon as you watch the sky darken through floor to ceiling windows. The wood burning stoves add to the cosy atmosphere and the make your own hot chocolate, with a pot of steaming milk with Valrhona ganache balls completes the picture.... More

Relax, cosy brasserie style of restaurant that offers very decent food for a good budget. Perfect location ; also for the colder months.

Having been here for breakfast in the sun just over a month ago, it was great to return straight off the plane knowing that the log burning stoves would be on on a chilly late October lunchtime. It was Monday and the kitchen and house staff outnumbered by patrons but the Autumn leaves visible through the plate glass picture windows... More

We utilised the internal restaurant section on a fairly chilly October lunchtime when the two wood burning stoves made it extremely cosy. The outside beer garden by the lake was closed for winter but I can imagine it's a great spot for refreshments when the weather is good. The menu is not the most extensive or cheapest we experienced but... More

A truly great surprise, especially in the colder season where the warm fireplaces and quaint atmosphere give a great setting to enjoy honest food and good beer.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
