My friends arrived at Prenzlauer Allee very late Wednesday night and we found this place by chance on our walk home.. All about garlic. It's very well priced. We all enjoyed a lovely atmosphere and tasty, well-portioned mains with perfectly good meat skewers in my case. Nothing but good things to say! The garlic beer was an interesting box to... More

Went here with a friend last week, and let's just give you a fair warning- be prepared to stink! I had to immediately change out of my clothes and take a shower when I got home. We didn't make reservations on a Thursday, but didn't need them. I'm sure you would on a weekend day. We started with some complimentary... More

Let's get the basics out the way first. To find the restaurant, it is left out of the tube station (circle line), then left down the next road for 300m or so. The restaurant is on the left side as you walk down. The area seemed safe enough on a Friday night The menu in the restaurant does not match... More

The restaurant is definitely something different. You can get all kinds of dishes (from starters over mains till desserts) and drinks (even beer) with garlic. The prices are avarage/fair and the portions big. Go for the bread with different garlic sauces for a starter!

This place is 100% about garlic and pretty creative on how to use garlic. Of course all the food, even the desserts, are made with garlic. They also have garlic beer, garlic schnaps, garlic t-shirts, garlic oil, etc. And it all tastes very good! Perfect place for every garlic lover :)

This restaurant has garlic everywhere. Litterally everywhere. In the food, in the beer, the snacks and even on the merchandising t-shirts. You can eat it for starters, mains, desserts, have a garliv beer, buy garlic stuff from the shop and then get a souvenir t-shirt that says "sorry" under an ebarrassed-looking garlic-head. I reeked for days after, but the food... More

This restaurant serves very good food, with a strong emphasis on Garlic. Almost all the food served here celebrates garlic, starting with the nuts served with the pre-dinner drinks, which had garlic flavour, through the food, and right to the complimentary post dinner schnaps which also was garlic flavoured. The food was tasty and well presented and indeed did not... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
