There were 11 of us and we had a great curry (huge portions !) and a real laugh with the middle aged Indian lady (manager / owner?) who took great care of us and genuinely cared that we liked the food.... Would throughly recommend but make sure you're hungry when you go there !

We visited on a Friday evening without a reservation and were lucky to get a table. We had a mixed platter to share as starter and had a lamb rogan josh and a chicken tikka masala. All of the food was really good and the curries were served with rice. Coming from the UK, I would say that the rogan... More

This is a wonderful place to eat in Schöneberg. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly and attentive. It is family-owned and the owners work in the restaurant. They were very welcoming to us even though we came in close to closing time over the holidays. They were generous with their time and very warm towards us... More

Coming from England, I consider myself quite the curry connoisseur - and this was a superb dining experience. Very friendly staff, tantalising flavours. If you're craving for a curry in Berlin, give it a go and you won't be disappointed!

A friend & I (both Indians) visited this restaurant craving home food in Berlin. We had a brilliant experience at this restaurant that claims to be the oldest one in its area in Berlin. The owners were homely and hospitable and the food was good too. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Germany! :)

First - the place was packed on a Sunday evening which was also New Year's Day; a good sign that made me glad I had reserved. After I had been seated, the charming hostess placed a glass of sparkling wine down in front of me, a very nice gesture to customers in celebration of the new year. I was impressed.... More

After close to 2 weeks in Germany I was desperate for a decent curry and managed to find this restuarant close to my hotel. I am happy to say that the food was lovely and extremely cheap considering the central location. In addition the staff were really friendly and helpful ....try the vegetable biriyani it is really tasty!

We are open every day except of Wednesdays from 1st April 2016 from 17.00 to 23.00 hours. In September 2014 Restaurant Maharadscha has completed 30 years. We want to say a large thank you to all our guests for their faith in us. If you want to experience authentic Indian food you are here at the right address. We serve chicken, lamb, duck, fish and other seafood dishes but we do have a variety for our vegetarian and vegan guests as well. Here you can forget your prejudices against Indian food since you decide whether you want your dish mild, good-seasoned, spicy or very spicy. One of the owners is always at your side to make your visit memorable. Even though we have a large number of dishes, every meal is been prepared freshly after your order is placed. The restaurant is located very central. You can get to Maharadscha in Schoneberg easily in 5-10 minutes from the underground station Wittenbergplatz (Kudamm with KaDeWe). So tourists can easily travel to the restaurants.

Neighbourhood Profile
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
